Luster Purge (Japanese: ラスターパージ Luster Purge ) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation III . It is the signature move of Latios .
Effect
Generation III to VII
Luster Purge inflicts damage and has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense .
Luster Purge can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination , with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Calm Mind was used in the previous turn.
Generation VIII
In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield , Luster Purge could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
Generation IX onwards
Luster Purge cannot be selected in battle.
