Luster Purge (Japanese: ラスターパージ Luster Purge) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation III. It is the signature move of Latios.
Effect
Generation III to VII
Luster Purge inflicts damage and has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense.
Luster Purge can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Calm Mind was used in the previous turn.
Generation VIII
In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Luster Purge could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
Generation IX
Luster Purge is programmed into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but cannot be selected in a battle as no available Pokémon can learn it. However, it can be called by Metronome.
