Pikachu short

Pikachu shorts are anime shorts that feature almost exclusively Pokémon and chronicle miscellaneous adventures of Ash's Pikachu.

Categories of shorts

The shorts can roughly be sorted into the following categories:

• The bonus mini-movies (Japanese: 同時上映 simultaneous screenings), which are shorts that aired theatrically together with a corresponding movie in Japan: PK01 with M01, PK04 with M02, PK07 with M03, PK10 with M04, PK11 with M05, PK12 with M06, PK24 with M15, PK25 with M16, PK26 with M17, and PK27 with M18. The first six shorts are occasionally included on home video releases with their corresponding movies. With the exception of PK07, they were available on Netflix in Japan under the title Pokémon: Short Films Collection (Japanese: ポケモン映画 ショートフィルム・コレクション Pokémon Movie Short Films Collection).
• The (Japanese: ANA機内上映 ANA in-flight screenings), which are shorts which were shown during the month of August on even-numbered ANA flights: PK13 in 2004, PK15 in 2005, and every Pikachu short from PK17 in 2006 until PK22 in 2011. These shorts were subsequently released on DVD. Only PK17 has been dubbed.
• The three Pikachu's Winter Vacation two-episode Christmas specials: PK02/PK03 in 1998, PK05/PK06 in 1999, and PK08/PK09 in 2000.
• The two (Japanese: ポケモン3Dアドベンチャー Pokémon 3D Adventure) shorts, which take advantage of 3D cinema technology: PK14 and PK16. Only the latter has been dubbed.
• The (Japanese: スペシャルアニメ special anime) short, which was released on a magazine bonus DVD: PK23. It was later shown on Pokémon Smash!, made available on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel, and included with the home video release of M15.
