Trivia

  • Both of Drapion's abilities revolve around critical hits. Battle Armor protects it from them, and Sniper strengthens a move that becomes a critical hit to 3× the damage instead of 2×.
  • Despite evolving from Skorupi at level 40, it may be caught at level 28 in the Great Marsh.
  • Drapion is the only Pokémon owned by Aaron of the Sinnoh Elite Four that is not bug type, the type he specializes in.

Origin

Drapion appears to be a stylized scorpion.

Name origin

Drapion's name may be derived from dragon or drastic (because of its violent nature) and scorpion.

In other languages

  • German: Piondragi - From Skorpion (scorpion), Drache (dragon), and Gift (poison).
  • French: Drascore
  • Korean: 드래피온 Drapion
  • Chinese: 龍王蠍
