Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl
Aaron was briefly mentioned by fellow Elite Four member Lucian in An Elite Meet and Greet!. He then debuted in A Trainer and Child Reunion!, where he was shown to be preparing for his championship battle against Cynthia. He was conducting a public training session at a small town between Hearthome City and Solaceon Town, which had been advertised in an issue of the Poké Chic magazine that featured him on the cover.
Ash and his friends decided to go watch Aaron train and joined the long line of fans that were there to meet him, with Dawn getting her copy of Poké Chic signed by him. When Aaron found out that the group knew Cynthia personally, he invited them to his training center. There, he revealed that a Wurmple was his first Pokémon and close friend when he was young, but due to his anger at it for losing a match, he abandoned it. He regretted it later, and from then on, he tried his best to train hard and to understand Bug-type Pokémon so that the same incident would not happen again. Aaron eventually encountered Wurmple again as a Beautifly by the end of the episode, following a battle against Team Rocket.
Aaron reappeared in the next episode, where he was seen on television having his battle with Cynthia at the Champion League, but he lost.
Pokémon movies
Aaron made a cameo appearance in the ending credits of Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
Character
Aaron likes to be surrounded by nature and Bug-type Pokémon. He tends to train in the forests, which allow him to rest up for upcoming challenges. He also enjoys the attention given by the status of being an Elite Four member. In addition, Aaron places friendship in high value, particularly with his Pokémon.

- Main article: Aaron's Beautifly
Aaron first encountered his Beautifly as a Wurmple when it helped him down from a high tree. They became very close friends, but finally Aaron became irritated that it always lost in battle and abandoned it in a park. When he later returned to find Wurmple, it was gone.
The same Wurmple returned in A Trainer and Child Reunion!, where it was revealed to have since evolved into a Beautifly. They reunited beside the very same tree where they had first met. It informed Aaron that it decided to start training by itself to become stronger. Beautifly then helped Aaron, Ash, and his friends to battle Team Rocket after they tried to steal Aaron's Pokémon. After this, Aaron took Beautifly back into his team.
Beautifly reappeared in the next episode, where Aaron used it as his last Pokémon in his battle against Cynthia. It went up against Cynthia's Gastrodon, but it was knocked out by Gastrodon's powerful Stone Edge.

When Drapion was stolen by Team Rocket along with Aaron's other Pokémon, it attempted to attack Jessie's Seviper, but it got badly hurt by Seviper's Poison Tail. Later, it was able to defeat Seviper with a Hyper Beam.
During Aaron's battle against Cynthia in the following episode, Drapion was sent out to face Cynthia's Garchomp, but was defeated off-screen.
