Mirror Coat (Japanese: ミラーコート Mirror Coat) is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II that deals a varying amount of damage.

Effect

If the last amount of damage done before the use of Mirror Coat is greater than 0 and was dealt by a Special move, Mirror Coat will do twice as much damage to the opponent. Although Mirror Coat deals Psychic-type damage, its type does not alter the amount of damage it inflicts.

Mirror Coat is a decreased priority move. If the opponent does not use a decreased priority move during the round that it is used, Mirror Coat will go last regardless of the user's or opponent's speed. If the opponent also uses a decreased priority move during the same round, the attack order of the users will be determined normally.

In the anime

In the anime, Counter and Mirror Coat do not specifically counter Physical or Special attacks and are for all purposes interchangeable.

Pokémon

Wobbuffet. Wobbuffet becomes coated in a substance that looks like glowing ice.

• Used by Jessie's Wobbuffet from Imitation Confrontation to present.

Corsola. Corsola glows with an aura similar to the anime effect of Counter.

• Used by Misty's Corsola from Octillery The Outcast! to present.

Tentacruel. Tentacruel becomes coated in a substance that looks like glowing ice.

• Used by Juan's Tentacruel in The Great Eight Fate!.

Glaceon. Glaceon becomes coated in a substance that looks like glowing ice.

• Used by May's Glaceon in Strategy With a Smile!.
