Release Date?
Is It True That The Movie Is Going To Be Released In Japan On The 14th July 2007? I Saw This Date On The Japanese Trailer, But I'm Not Sure If I Should Put This On The Page. Tesh!

Cleanup, oversize tags
I added these tags because 1) this article is way too huge and needs to be cut down (especially the plot section), and 2) there are serious prose problems (also in the plot section). Morgan695 05:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Robert?
I noticed that several of the voice actors have the name "Robert" next to them in small text. What does that mean? Just curious. --☆ケンジガール 04:23, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Just how long IS the movie?
I'm confused. Wikipedia said that it was 128 minutes (unlikely story), but I don't think so, seeing that no Pokémon movie has spanned 2 hours. Could someone be a dear and check the length on the back of the DVD (if they have it)?
Best regards,

Summary
Why was almost all of the summary removed?
--HoennMaster - February 11, 2008 8:29 PM (CST)
- Because a summary is a very short and concise paragraph of the plot. That was like GAAAAHH!!!! That wasn't a summary. That was the whole thing.PokeManiac102 02:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Although that is true, the summary still goes on explaining the movie and then just cuts off, without a new paragraph wrapping up other details.
5th Gen?
In the movie at the end they played the music it made a big gold bird-thing. Then whats-his-face said "Its _______!" (yes I forgot the name) like it was a Pokémon. Maybe some sort of 5th gen? Any thoughts? CrystalLucario 22:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
It was just the name of the song and it wasnt a pokemon it was the space-time tower doing something to calm down dialga and palkia.Darkmaster0 21:42, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
That makes more sense.CrystalLucario 22:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Villain?
Anybody else think Dialga is more of the villain than both dialga nad palkis?I mean palkia was trying to hide from dialga and Dialga cracked palkia's pearl(or whatever that gem on its shoulder is).Darkmaster0 22:58, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
I was under the impression it was Palkia as Palkia was the first (seen) to attack, Ash spazed at it, and it decided to BRING the dimension to him to hide in. So I'm just guessing Dialga is just stronger. But that is my opinion. CrystalLucario 23:18, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree with darkmaster0, I think Dialga is the villain. Dialga was the one always to attack while Palkia was tryin to hide. shinylucario 23:32, 25 February 2008 (UTC) I also agree. Palkia was just trying not to cause harm and protect itself, Darkrai was just trying to stop the fight (though endangering and hurting many others), but Dialga was the main antagonist. --Theryguy512 01:48, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
I figured it out Dialga is the main antagonist BUT Palkia is the semi-antagonist as he was accidentaly destroying everything.
CrystalLucario 22:46, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Dialga move?
In the movie, Dialga used a move that his head glows red then many bullets? shoot out. I'm just wondering, what move was that?

I Will Be With You
In the credits of "The Rise of Darkrai" on CN, it was told that the ending song wouldn't have been "I Will Be With You" by Sarah Brightman, but "I'll Always Remember You" by Kirsten Price. Will it be true? Have PUSA renounced to pay Brightman for her song's rights? I thing this should be added to the Trivia.--Firempoleon 12:53, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Canon
Yes let's bring this up again. Why the hell wouldn't the movies be canon? Sure, no one makes any captures in them, nor does anything evolve, because that'd require for everyone to buy tickets or DVDs to see the event, instead of how it is on TV, which is free... well... kinda. Not CN since it's cable. If you say the movies aren't canon, you pretty much can say the filler isn't canon either, because nothing freaking happens and the events are never mentioned afterwards. TTEchidna 00:41, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- It'd probably help if events and characters from the movies actually showed up in the series, which hasn't happened since "Mewtwo Returns", except for the recent mentions of Aura. - Cassius335 11:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- The same can be said for just about any character of the day. And don't forget that LaRousse City became Drew's hometown. Plus, Dialga will be in the next movie.
- The one issue I can see with canon is that this would become the start of Dawn losing streak rather than DP049. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 01:28, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not really. Looks like she actually got to the finals in this one. - Cassius335 10:22, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, and besides, even Main episodes can be contradicted. For example, in a certain episode, Ash and co. acted as though they never heard of the N1 grand prix DESPITE Ash winning that particular event, and loaning his Primeape to the 3rd place man. And also, for a much better example The Rubello contest made it seem as though Beautifly was never used in the Fallabor town contest prior, even IN the Japanese version, even though she DEFINITELY used it there.

Alicia's English VA
There seems to be some confusion regarding Alicia, Alice's grandmonther, and who her voice actress is. I'm absolutely positive that it's Kayzie Rogers, who's recently rejoined the PUSA cast, despite not being credited in this movie. There have been cases where some of the VAs weren't credited in a film and yet were still credited here on Bulbapedia. Citing an example, Destiny Deoxys only listed the core cast as listed in the TV episodes in its credits, leaving out Mike Pollock as the narrator, Tara Jayne/Sands as Tory, Sean Schemmel as Prof. Lund, Lisa Ortiz as Rebecca, etc. And yet we've granted it as fact that they did in fact voice those characters despite not being credited. Certainly mistakes can and will be made, but I think it's necessary to utilize research and common sense as much as actual evidence. After all, Emily Williams wasn't credited by that name in the credits, and yet it's obvious it's her voicing Infernape's trainer. If it's obvious Kayzie Rogers voiced Alicia as well as her other creature roles, even if not credited, what should be done? Shift 17:57, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Trivia errors?
"It starts of with a fleeing Mew that is attacked by a Mewtwo which uses Shadow Ball, only to be stopped by Mew by absorbing the attack with a shield (Mewtwo Strikes Back)." It actually looks like a Lugia flies in and absorbs it with...Mew's pink shield (instead of the clear one that Lugia uses in the second movie).Cynicalmew 06:29, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've seen the movie and the trivia is correct--CoolPikachu! 06:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ive also seen the movie and it is indeed the lugia that stops the attack not mew. The trivia does need to be edited.Sevenofniner 10:46, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Synopsis
Does anybody else think that we should expand the synopsis? It kind of sounds like what would be on the back of the DVD case. Also because the trivia section is larger than the actual story of the movie. R.A. Hunter B. 03:16, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Ho-oH trivia
It says that this is the first movie to have a Ho-oH appear. This is wrong because Ho-oH appears in Lucario and the mystery of mew near the beginning. Later in the movie mew is transformed as a Ho-oH as well but this dosn't mean that it was mew at the beginning of the movie (unless i'm mistaken and it does show mew transforming at the beginning)-- D558 06:58, 2 June 2009 (UTC)D558
- An actual Ho-Oh, not a Pokémon transformed into a Ho-Oh.--ForceFire 07:00, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- OK yes I got that BUT is it confirmed that the Ho-oh at the beginning of Lucario and the mystery of mew that it WAS mew? Did it show mew transforming into that Ho-Oh? that was my point from the start, at the BEGINNING of Lucario and the Mystery of mew (not later when shown summoned to the canyon by Sir Auron) a Ho-oh was seen flying out of a canyon was it confirmed that that was mew and not a real Ho-oh? -- D558
- I have now taken that bit of False trivia out -- D558 03:30, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

- Just watched it... In just the first few minutes right after the movie intro speech in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew A Ho-oh flies out of the mist near the tree. Even in the distant fog it is still a soaring bird shape right up until it leaves the screen. Always Ho-oh, never shown that it is mew. I'm Right! Mew far later in the movie being a Ho-oh doesn't prove in any way that the pokemon shown flying out of the Tree's crater is mew no more than anyone can prove that Ash's Pikachu in the balloon while entering the city is Pikachu and not mew. Lawyered. -- D558 04:13, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, by your logic, the Ho-Oh in Darkrai could be a Mew because it could have transformed before it came on-screen. I think most people are going to and were meant to assume that if a Ho-Oh leaves the Tree then comes back and turns into Mew, it's the same animal.—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 05:07, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- No... it's your logic that dictates that just because mew was transformed into that pokemon later in the movie means that any pokemon shown before can't be trusted to be real. (ok admittedly my wording with the pikachu thing was confusing, I meant to make it seem that if u assume the Ho-oh is mew why not pikachu in some minor scenes)-- D558 14:59, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

- Still this site is so overcautious on issues like the sex of a pokemon despite implied situations, than I don't think assumptions like the one "The Ho-oh was definably mew at the beginning of the movie (LatMoM)" shouldn't be made either. Ho-oH could also live at the tree as well, mew was not the soul resident. -- D558 21:45, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't see any hope in getting the point across to you. The last thing I'll say on this is that Mew is known to take the form of Ho-oh. The movies tend to keep things like that consistent. R.A. Hunter Blade 03:16, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Continuity Confirmation
The trivia section say this is the first movie to be canonized by events in the series. This is not the case. In the episode The Mystery is History, Ash says (in the English dub, at least) he recognizes a Lugia from his time in the Orange Islands. The only Lugia he saw in the Orange Islands was the one in The Power of One.Legionaireb 14:55, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
