A is a dual-type Normal/Normal Glitch Pokémon.

It is not to be confused with a, which is found in a similar way to uppercase A. The Glitch Pokémon A can be found in the Pokémon Red and Blue doing Method #3 of the Mew glitch using a Pokémon with a special stat of 191.

The Yellow Version equivalent of "A" is 4 4, who has the cry of a Rhydon and whose first type is "99||9" and second type is Normal (as opposed to "A" in Red/Blue, whose types are Normal and Normal). Its number will be #250 in both the Red/Blue equivalent and Yellow equivalent.

Unlike Glitch Pokémon such as Chiisai-u, .4 and h POKé, "A" is not known to freeze games or corrupt saved data. (See [1], [2])

Biology

Habitat

A (uppercase) has no specific habitat because it was never programmed to be in a specific area, nor was it ever programmed for the player to find it. Since it only exists in Generation I, it must exist in the Kanto region. Its habitat is confirmed to exist in any location where a trainer in the Red/Blue/Yellow versions can be escaped from before being seen (see Mew glitch). Theoretically, it could also exist in some Glitch City-like location.

Since A does not exist in any game that uses the Special Attack and Special Defense stats, only its Special stat is listed.

Trivia

  • A cannot learn any HMs (although it learns Cut by leveling up).
  • A, along with PkMn and , are the only dual-type glitch Pokémon with the same type used for both of its types. This, very strangley, gives it a double-immunity to Template:Type2 moves.
  • In Pokémon Red and Blue, A has the same Cry as the sound Sing makes.
  • A is the only Pokémon besides Ditto and Mew (and Smeargle, due to Sketch) to learn Transform.
