Katie (AG148)
Katie (Japanese: サキエ Sakie) is a character of the day who appeared in A Chip Off The Old Brock.
Katie makes medicines by using the electric powers of her Mareep. She runs a pharmacy with the help of her granddaughter, Mariah, and McCauley. McCauley always wanted to impress Katie with his own medicines, but his attempts often failed.
Katie demonstrated to Ash and his friends, who visited her shop, her medicine-making process. The special ingredient of the potion she made was dew taken from a Sunkern leaf and electrophoresis is used to complete the medicine. Later, when she caught McCauley trying to make medicine again, she explained to him that he needed to have more confidence in himself, as well as his Ampharos. Soon, the pharmacy got robbed by Team Rocket, who planned to sell Katie's medicine.
Katie asked Brock to shoot down Team Rocket's balloon with Marshtomp's Mud Shot. When he did, Team Rocket reflected it back, which hurt both Katie's Mareep and Ash's Pikachu. McCauley and Mariah quickly whipped up a medicine to make Mareep and Pikachu feel better. After Team Rocket was eventually defeated, Katie realized that McCauley and Mariah had made a perfect potion without the use of dew from a Sunkern leaf. It was then that she felt confident enough in McCauley and Mariah to leave the pharmacy to them.

After Team Rocket tried to take over the pharmacy with their mecha, Brock used his Marshtomp's Mud Shot to attack them, but their reflectors redirected the attack to Mareep and Ash's Pikachu. A potion was made to cure them and Mareep, along with the other Electric-type Pokémon, sent Team Rocket blasting off.

Trivia
- Unlike Mariah and McCauley's Japanese names, Katie's Japanese name doesn't seem to relate at all to her Pokémon's name.
