Legendary Arena
The Legendary Arena (Japanese: レジェンドバトル Legend Battle) is a special battle area in Pokémon Masters EX. Introduced in Version 1.10.5, it features battles against a boss Legendary Pokémon. The player can battle the boss with multiple teams using up to 30 sync pairs. Sync pairs that have participated once cannot be used in a team again. The boss has three HP bars and its attack pattern, moves, and passive skills change with each bar. The boss's HP and status conditions are carried over between battles.
The player is able to reset their progress at any point. This will reset the current challenge status, and hence reset the opponent's HP and status conditions, as well as any sync pairs used. The player's progress is also automatically reset after a week has elapsed since the last attempt.
Arena rewards are given when the player depletes one of the boss's HP bars to 0; repeatable General rewards consist of one 1★ Level-Up Manual per HP bar. Medals can also be earned by completing specific missions.
Starting from September 8, 2022, all of the battles are permanently available.
Legendary Arena: Entei
Entei was the first Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from June 11 to 25, 2020, October 5 to 17, 2020, January 14 to February 1, 2021, June 9 to 23, 2021, and October 4 to 18, 2021. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from January 20 to February 2, 2022, and July 25 to August 19, 2022.
It is weak to Water-type moves. Entei sets permanent field effects, such as Physical/Special Damage Reduction, during the fight. It will also raise its critical-hit rate which can't be lowered due to Steady Aim passive skill.
Some of Entei's notable passive skills are:
Bar 3:
Piercing Gaze: moves never miss.
Hostile Environment 10: its Heat Wave and Sacred Fire will always burn the target.
On a Roll 9: its Rock Smash and Iron Tail will always lower target's Defence.

It is weak to Fire-type moves. Cobalion is resistant to all damage thanks to Healthy Advantage 8 passive skill. This protection can be negated by inflicting Cobalion with a status condition, although its resistance to any status condition increases each time Cobalion recovers from one, until it becomes immune.

It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from May 24 to June 7, 2022.
It is weak to Dragon-type moves while on its first and second HP bars, and weak to Ice-type moves while on its third. Latios is also joined by Dragonite and Salamence which are weak to Dragon-type moves. While on its second and third HP bar, Latios will have the Defense Crush 9 and Mind Games 9 Passive Skill which always lower it's target's defenses for every successful hit.

It is weak to Bug-type moves. Azelf also has passive skills that greatly reduce physical damage it takes during the first 50% of each HP bar and special damage during the second 50%, with these extending to sync moves while on Azelf's third bar. On the very hard difficulty and while the third HP bar, Azelf will have the Piercing Gaze passive skill which allows its moves to always hit.

Legendary Arena: Tapu Bulu
Tapu Bulu was the fifth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from November 16 to 30, 2020, August 5 to 19, 2021, February 7 to 21 and June 9 to 23, 2022. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from July 25 to August 19, 2022.
It is weak to Flying-type moves while on its first and third HP bars, and weak to Poison-type moves while on its second. It activates the field effect of Grassy Terrain at the beginning of each HP bar and each time it uses its Sync Move; Grassy Terrain increases the power of Grass-type moves and restores HP when using a Grass-type move. Grassy Terrain can be countered by inflicting Poison or by using "interference" status conditions, such as flinching, confusion, or trapped, although Tapu Bulu will increase its resistance to the latter each time it recovers, until it becomes immune.

Legendary Arena: Regirock
Regirock was the sixth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from December 12 to 20, 2020, June 25 to July 9, 2021, November 19 to December 3, 2021, and April 7 to 21, 2022. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from May 24 to June 7, 2022.
It is weak to Grass-type moves while on its first HP bar, and weak to Steel-type moves while on its second and third. During the battle, any Pokémon receiving a critical hit will have their Defense lowered; for Regirock, this is the only way to reduce any of its stats. After dropping below 50% on the first and second HP bars, Regirock uses Iron Defense to raise its Defense and block critical hits for a period of time. While on its second and third HP bar, Regirock will also increase it's resistance to any status interference (flinching, confusion or trapped) each time it recovers from one until it becomes immune.

It is weak to Dark-type moves. While on its first HP bar, Cresselia will boost its stats with Double Team and Calm Mind and use Special Damage Reduction and its Brain Barrier 8 passive skill to reduce special damage; on harder difficulties, it will use its Go Viral 9 passive skill to allow its Thunder Wave to paralyze the player's entire team. On its second HP bar, it will switch to using Physical Damage Reduction and its Brawn Barrier 8 passive skill to reduce physical damage, and it will also add Stat Reduction Defense to its side of the field; on harder difficulties, it will use its Go Viral 9 passive skill to allow its Toxic to badly poison the player's entire team, and on Very Hard, it will gradually heal itself. On its third HP bar, Cresselia will continue its Physical Damage Reduction and Stat Reduction Defense, and it will add Status Move Defense and Status Condition Defense to its side of the field. After the first and second bars are depleted, Cresselia will use the Sure Hit Next and Critical Hit Next effects together with moves that damage the player's whole party.

Legendary Arena: Latias
Latias was the eighth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from March 31 to April 14, 2021, November 9 to 23, 2021, and June 27 to July 11, 2022. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from March 24 to April 7, 2022.
It is joined by Flygon and Alakazam which are weak to Dragon-type and Dark-type moves respectively. It is weak to Dragon-type moves while on its first HP bar, and weak to Fairy-type moves while on its second and third. Latias's Fluid Fortification passive skill reduces any damage it takes the more its stats are raised, but lowering its stats causes it to take more damage. While on its second HP bar, Latias will also gain or lose evasiveness if it dodged or failed to dodge, respectively, incoming attacks.

Legendary Arena: Tornadus
Tornadus was the ninth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from April 22 to May 6, 2021, September 21 to October 5, 2021, and December 9 to 23, 2021. The missions were available from September 8 to 22, 2022. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from May 24 to June 7, 2022.
It is weak to Electric-type moves. Normally, Tornadus is resistant to physical damage while on its first HP bar, to special damage while on its second, and all damage while on its third, and it is also protected from critical hits while on the third HP bar. These protections can be negated by inflicting Tornadus with a status condition, although it is immune to all except Paralysis. If paralyzed, Tornadus will use Toxic one time early in the fight; otherwise, it will use Rain Dance instead. It has a chance of curing its paralysis after using a move with Self-Cleanse passive skill. Tornadus resists status changes, such as flinching, confusion, or trapped, with its resistance increasing each time it recovers from one, until it becomes immune. On the very hard difficulty and while on the third HP bar, Tornadus will have the Piercing Gaze passive skill which allows its moves to always hit.

Moltres was the tenth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled from July 12 to 26, 2021 and February 24 to March 10, 2022. It could also be battled in the Legendary Gauntlet from March 24 to April 7, 2022.
It is weak to Rock-type moves while on its first and third HP bars, and weak to Water-type moves while on its second. All weather conditions remain in effect until replaced with different weather; Moltres has a number of passive skills that activate during sunny weather, which it summons at the beginning of each HP bar and the halfway point of the second and third bars. Moltres can be flinched, but its resistance to flinching increases each time it recovers until it reaches 9.

It is weak to Ghost-type moves. While on its first HP bar, the Healthy Advantage passive skill reduces damage while Uxie is unaffected by status conditions; on the second bar, the Acute Senses passive skill reduces damage unless Uxie is affected by status changes (e.g., flinching or restrained); and both passive skills take affect when Uxie is on its third HP bar. Additionally, passive skills increase Uxie's resistance to a status condition or interference condition (flinching, confusion, or trapped) each time it recovers from one, until it becomes immune. On Very Hard difficulty, Uxie will also apply Special Damage Reduction to its side of the field while on its first bar and Physical Damage Reduction while on its third bar.

Legendary Arena: Terrakion
Terrakion was the twelfth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled starting from March 10, 2023.
It is weak to Psychic-type moves. Terrakion's passive skills increase its damage when its Attack and Sp. Atk are raised, which it can accomplish through moves and passive skills. While on its second and third HP bar, the Clear Advantage passive skill reduces damage while there's no field effect on Terrakion's side of the field, such as weather, terrain, Type Zone, or Type Damage Field.
Some of Terrakion's notable passive skills are:
Bar 2:
Clear Advantage 4: Reduces damage taken by 40% when there's no field effect affecting it.
Bar 3:
Clear Advantage 8: Reduces damage taken by 80% when there's no field effect affecting it.

Legendary Arena: Registeel
Registeel was the fourteenth Legendary Arena boss Pokémon and could be battled starting from October 10, 2023.
Registeel is weak to Fighting-type moves, and it has passive skills that reduce the damage it takes when its Defense or Special Defense is raised, as well as moves and passive skills to raise its Defense and Special Defense. Stat changes to Defense and Special Defense have a greater effect on damage output for both allies and opponents, so lowering Registeel's Defense and Special Defense is the recommended strategy.
In addition, field effects that Registeel puts up, such as Physical Damage Reduction and Special Damage Reduction shields, are permanent unless removed by the player.

Missions
Event missions
Because the majority of Legendary Arena rewards are first-time completion rewards and cannot be obtained on reruns, event missions were included during the reruns of Legendary Arenas to encourage players to take on the challenge again with certain team restrictions. These missions required players to complete the most difficult version of the Legendary Arena with nine sync pairs or fewer, and at least three sync pairs of those nine had to have a certain theme skill. Players could earn up to 1,000 Gems by completing these missions. Once Legendary Arenas became available permanently, event missions continued to rerun periodically.
Legendary Arena: Raikou was the only Legendary Arena to include event missions at the same time as its debut.
The general structure of Legendary Arena event missions is as follows:
The only Legendary Arena event missions that did not follow this format exactly were Latias's missions in June and October 2022, which only asked players to use 2 or more sync pairs of the designated region theme skill.
The following table lists all the times Legendary Arena missions have been available, and what theme skills were required:
