List of Battle Frontier Trainers in Generation IV
This is a list of standard Pokémon Trainers that can be encountered for all challenges at the Battle Frontier in Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. Each Trainer will use three Pokémon for Single Battles, four for Double Battles, and two for Multi Battles, randomly selected from a Trainer-specific set list. Every Pokémon used will have randomly-determined genders and Abilities, but factors used to calculate base stats (EVs, IVs, and Nature) are fixed.
Although the listed Trainers appear in all five Battle Frontier facilities, the associated sets and consecutive battle appearances only apply for the Battle Tower, Battle Castle and Battle Arcade. The Battle Hall uses a completely separate roster of Pokémon. And in the Battle Factory, while Trainers use Pokémon from the same roster, they are not tied to any set of Pokémon.
Trainers in the Battle Frontier use Pokémon with fixed, uniform IVs across all stats. Battle Tower, Battle Castle, Battle Arcade and Battle Factory trainers use Pokémon with IVs based on the Trainer index number. Battle Hall trainers use Pokémon with IVs based on the Rank of the selected Type.

List of Trainers
A checkmark indicates which battles an NPC Trainer may appear in during the player's consecutive battle streak. Checkmarks with a gold background indicate Trainers that only appear during the seventh battle of that challenge. Battles number 21 and 49 in Single Battles are exceptions, in which these Trainers will not appear at all, and the Frontier Brain is battled instead.
