Blurb
His plans left in ruins, Ghetsis makes one last attempt to bring Unova under his icy grasp. A hero arrives, intending to stop him.
Plot
In the frozen depths of Giant Chasm, Ghetsis orders Kyurem to continue spreading its ice over Unova and freeze the region completely. As Kyurem releases another wave of ice, a Fusion Flare appears to intercept it. Ghetsis notes the presence of N and Reshiram, who have come to stop his plans. Ghetsis addresses N as "the freak without a human heart", while N expresses his desire to stop Kyurem's further suffering, and his wish to protect the region of Unova, in which he learned how to live as a human.
Ghetsis remarks that N's speech proves that his training to be king wasn't a complete waste, but nonetheless notes N's roles in ruining his plans for world domination, and activates the DNA Splicers. Under its power, Kyurem releases a series of energy restraints from its icy spikes, eventually trapping Reshiram despite its best attempts to evade them, reverting the Legendary Dragon into its form as the Light Stone. Kyurem proceeds to absorbs the Light Stone inside itself, transforming into White Kyurem.
N expresses his disbelief that Pokémon have the ability to fuse. Ghetsis berates N for choosing to abandon his path to kinghood, forcing Ghetsis to take over Unova by force, and orders White Kyurem to freeze N solid. Feeling Reshiram's voice from inside White Kyurem, N confirms that Reshiram can still be separated. Unhinged, Ghetsis angrily claims that people and Pokémon are mere tools for him to achieve his goals. Despite his misgivings, N addresses Ghetsis as his father, telling him that people and Pokémon can achieve stronger ideals and dreams by collaborating. Ghetsis demands for N to keep quiet, addressing him again as a freak since "no real person could talk to a Pokémon".
Just as White Kyurem unleashes its Ice Burn attack, a Thunderbolt intercepts it before it can hit its target. N turns around and sees that Zekrom and Hilbert have arrived to help, and Ghetsis grimaces. The episode ends as both Legendary Dragon-type Pokémon stare each other down, ready for the confrontation.
