People Protecting Pokémon (Japanese: ポケモンを守る人の手 The Hands of Those who Protect Pokémon) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the second part of the Alola chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against the Aether Foundation. It was one of the Alola villain events, the other being Investigate the Foundation.

During this event, players could earn vouchers and Solgaleo Crystals from battles against the Aether Foundation that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including a power boost for Scottie/Bettie & Solgaleo that would give them additional tiles on their sync grid. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would reward players with a medal. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

All sync pairs with the Alola theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.

First run

The event first ran from May 12 to June 2, 2023. The "Sygna Suit Acerola Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Acerola & Tapu Bulu for the duration of the event, and the "Sygna Suit Lana Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Lana & Tapu Lele starting on May 14, 2023, and lasting until the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers L from battles. Event missions rewarded players with Gems and Battle Points for completing any of these battles a certain number of times, and the Battle Challenge mission rewards included a Strike and a Support Move Candy Coin.

Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Sygna Suit Hau & Tapu Koko, Sygna Suit Mina & Tapu Fini, Sygna Suit Acerola & Tapu Bulu, and Sygna Suit Lana & Tapu Lele, and the background music wasBattle! (New Wind on Alola) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). In addition, a special voice-over line of a Trainer saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen. This line could be spoken by Hau, Mina, Acerola, or Lana, chosen at random each time the title screen was loaded.

Second run

The event reran from December 6 to 18, 2023. The "Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Mina & Tapu Fini, Sygna Suit Acerola & Tapu Bulu, and Sygna Suit Lana & Tapu Lele from December 4 to the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers Z from battles, and the amount of vouchers received as completion rewards was increased drastically. In addition, the mission rewards were changed to only award Gems and medals.

If the player had already received Scottie/Bettie & Solgaleo's power boost, exchanging for it in the shop again would reward the player with a 3★ Power-Up.
