Plasma Power is the name of the deck used by Haruto Kobayashi, who was the champion in the Junior Division in the 2014 World Championships. It is one of the four 2014 World Championships Decks, released in November 2014, and is based on the TDK archetype. Each Deck comes with a Worlds 2014 themed Deckbox, a booklet about the championships, a non-tournament-legal print of the sixty card deck, and the 2014 World Championships Pin. The cards included in the deck aren't the prints actually used in the decks, but are the most recent printing of the lowest rarity of the cards.

Packaging

Haruto Kobayashi's Plasma Power deck is a battle-tested Team Plasma deck, using Thundurus-EX and Colress Machine early to attach lots of Energy fast for big attacks. The ACE SPEC card Scramble Switch can get a new Active Pokémon switched in and powered up in no time, leading to surprise Knock Outs that can throw anyone off! All the while, Deoxys-EX sits patiently on the Bench, boosting the damage of all the other Team Plasma Pokémon—including the main attacker, Kyurem. It's a deck for quick and crushing victory!

Haruto was nervous about facing players who didn't speak Japanese—but after he played a few of those opponents in just-for-fun matches, he stopped worrying. And, as it turned out, six of the players in his top 8 were from Japan! For his deck, Haruto concentrated on making a Plasma deck focused on Kyurem, because, as he puts it: "I had thought about making a deck that could handle things like Pyroar. I tried playing lots of battles with it." That turned out to be a good idea: "Around the sixth match I ran into a Pyroar user, and all went according to plan.

Haruto has a choice of heavy-hitting Pokémon to choose from. His deck also includes Latias-EX, a Pokémon that plays well in a field where virtually every opposing Pokémon has an Ability, such as Pyroar, Keldeo-EX, and Darkrai-EX.

Trivia

The deck includes the Emerging Powers print of Max Potion, while the decklist in the 2014 World Championships Booklet lists the deck as having the Plasma Freeze print instead, which is the equivalent of the print Haruto Kobayashi used in the tournament. Although it is typical that the decks include the lowest possible rarity of the specific cards, the decklist is in error as they usually reflect this modification.
