Pokémon video games
Pokémon games are sold in Slovakia in English. Since 1999, Nintendo products have been distributed by ConQuest Entertainment.[1] Unlike PEGI, Slovakia uses its own ratings system, the Unified System of Age Rating/Labeling (JSO), which rates games, television shows and films in that country. However, Nintendo games are imported straight from Europe, under distribution from ConQuest, with the PEGI rating intact, but with a JSO sticker.
Pokémon anime
The first four seasons of the anime have been dubbed into Slovak. The series has originally aired on a public TV channel STV1, with first episode premiering on February 3, 2001. The show's run ended in 2002 with the last episode of season 3. Later, in 2005, the broadcasting rights were bought by TV JOJ, a private TV channel, which aired the first three seasons along with a newly dubbed season 4. It has been rumored that seasons 5 through 7 have also been dubbed and aired on an unknown network, but that hasn't been confirmed. On January 5, 2009, season 10 premiered on Jetix with a Czech dub (as was the norm due to the Czech and Slovak Jetix sharing a single audio track), followed by season 11 in March of the same year. The situation was later repeated in 2010 when Disney Channel began airing the Czech dub of season 12. The other seasons beyond season 4, with the possible exceptions of seasons 5 to 7, have never been aired due to unknown reasons.
All of the English theme songs in the TV series were left in their original form, untranslated, while the movies had both their opening and ending themes dubbed.
Pokémon movies
The first four movies have aired on TV Markíza, though the air dates for these movies are currently unknown. The first movie was translated and dubbed in Slovak with the title Pokémon: Prvý film - Najmocnejší Pokémon. The second movie aired with the title Pokémon 2: Sila jednotlivca. The third movie has been dubbed as well with the title Pokémon 3 - Kliatba Unownov. The fourth movie was released under the name Pokémon Navždy in 2002.
Cast and crew
The Maya Company is responsible for producing the first three seasons and the movies, while the EKA Agency is responsible for producing the fourth season of the anime.
