The Roger family (Japanese: ロジャーファミリー Roger family), also known as the Rogers, is a villainous organization in Pokémon Duel. It has three known members: Brenda, Joe, and Don Roger, its leader.

The Roger family is immensely wealthy, owning "practically half" of Carmonte Island, where Pokémon Duel takes place. The group is notorious for using shady methods to acquire rare and powerful Pokémon Figure Game (PFG) figures. It has also resorted to methods such as sabotage, kidnapping, and coercion to achieve its ends. The group has a large amount of members, enough to manage figure maintenance for the entire PFG World Championships. Of the members seen, Joe and Brenda address Don Roger as "Boss", while he addresses them by their names and refers to them as his "subordinates".

The organization's motto is "win ugly, lose pretty".

Plot

Prior to the events of Pokémon Duel, Sharon's father invented the PFG League Match system, but he then became involved in a dispute with the Roger family, and lost. As a result, the Roger family took his idea, leaving Sharon's family with none of the profits. Some time later, the Roger family took part in organizing the PFG World Championships, and was put in charge of figure maintenance.

During the championships, Don Roger has Joe and Brenda investigate the Gemini AI devices "Carlo" and "Another" - two unique advanced AI that were included among the devices issued to every player. Roger seeks to acquire the two devices, with the stated goal of using them to eliminate AI from PFG, as he saw the use of AI as invalidating player skill, ruining the game he loved.

Joe encounters the player and Luca in Atlantis, and is able to determine that they hold the two devices. To facilitate an approach, the Roger family has Joe replace the hotel's owner, and leverages their control of figure maintenance to insert sabotaged chips into many players' figures - causing the figures' spins to always land on "miss" wedges. However, Joe is unable to defeat the player, and passes the task to Brenda, the owner of Olivia Palace. She is also unsuccessful, leading Don Roger to intervene personally.

Don Roger challenges the player to a duel as the owner of The Volcano, wagering Carlo to be taken by the winner - but Roger is defeated by the player. As a backup plan, he has Joe kidnap Luca's sister Tia in order to coerce his cooperation, offering to return Tia in exchange for Carlo and Another. Some time afterwards, the previously-dormant personality of Another awakens in Luca's device, and it negotiates for Tia's release, in exchange for helping Roger achieve his plan to change PFG. However, now without a bartering chip, the Roger family is unable to influence Luca and Another's actions - and Another starts to push Luca on his own path.

After this turn of events, Don Roger re-evaluates his stance, and finds that the player's passion for PFG is key to shaping the game's future. As such, he pivots the organization to support instead of impede the player's endeavors going forward.
