Talk:Audino (Pokémon)
Type
I thought it was said somewhere that Tabunne was a Normal-type. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 15:01, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Serebii says apparently, PokéBeach seems certain, blog says nothing is known about type. I guess it would be alright to put the type on, as it is still in the userspace. --SnorlaxMonster 15:14, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Which one is Tabunne? Could you put it in the caption of the picture? Theviolinkid 18:55, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Theviolinkid
Origin
Tabunne might be based off a goat. I know goats aren't bipedal, but it looks like a baby goat to me. If you look closely you see what appear to horns near its ears and a bell hanging on its right ear. I'm not saying put "Tabunne appears to be based off a goat", I'm just bringing up a point here. --Dialgafan1 03:35, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I think it's best to just wait till we can see a clearer image first
I can't see the goat resemblance Ataro 03:37, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
It kinda reminds me of a koala, particularly the coat pattern and ear and general body shape. Dragoness 06:24, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
The moment we get official art
This is mainspaced. Try to find the official art. TTEchidna 20:13, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
um....ok? isn't that how it usually works when we have all the info...is the art out or something? Ataro 20:15, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
No, the art is not out. I am Darth Mewtwo... Fear me, and my team made entirely of Mewtwo!!! 23:31, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Coro Coro leak gave us art of this and many others. Is it mainspacing time? --SnorlaxMonster 06:30, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Hearing VS Healing
It's Pokedex entires suggest Hearing...Ataro 19:18, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, ヒヤリング (hiyaringu) refers to hearing, not to healing. I even found it in a dictionary. Erik10081989 12:46, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Nurse/Doctor Origin
Clearly this Pokemon was based more on humans than a specific animal, similarly to the Happiny - Chancey - Blissey line, except it was inspired by a doctor or nurse using a stethoscope. I am going to re-add that to the page, and until someone finds a better origin (which I don't see happening any time soon), I believe it is a valid point and should be on the page. - unsigned comment from CoolDudeAl (talk • contribs)
Breeding Table
The chart says that Tabunne can learn moves by breeding via the Chansey family... how is that possible with an all-female species? Falchiar ( talk page ) 19:11, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Audino vs Albino
Whenever I hear the name, I think of the color. It's not entirely albino, but its undersides are, and the two are spelled very similarly. Any thoughts?Yurtablemoron 05:37, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- It looks nothing like that....Ataro 06:57, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Removed 'leporid' origin
I have no idea where leporid came from, as Audino definitely doesn't look like any of them. Buneary and Lopunny are examples of leporid-based pokemon, but since it doesn't look like it, I'm removing it. And facilitating discussion since the last one just got erased with no explanation. Salix 06:48, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Linking this for koala: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Friendly_Female_Koala.JPG Similarities were already noted above, but I'll repeat anyway: coat pattern, body shape, ear shape. All that's lacking are accessories: dangly things from the ears and the tail.
As for leporids, they have nothing visually in common besides maybe the tail. Sensitive ears are found all over the animal kingdom and are thus hardly exclusive, besides which their purpose for Audino is to aid it in nursing. Dragoness 02:43, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- Audino is on practically every route. Rabbits are practically everywhere, Koalas are not. Aura-Knight 05:25, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- ...what? That's stupid. Where a Pokemon is found has nothing to do with its basis. --Transfinite | Talk 13:54, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
German name origin
I don't speak German much, but I think Ohrdoch's got something to do with "doch". It seems to be somewhat similar to Japanese "tabun ne", but I'm not sure... Any thoughts? --Hohoo 17:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Name Origin...
"I dunno." This has to be the most ridiculous name origin I have come across. Well I dunno where this could have come from. Does anyone else? XVuvuzela2010X 07:41, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
All of its names are a play on words. Its Japanese name, as can be read in the article, is a play on 'tabun ne', meaning 'maybe'. Its English name is a play on 'I dunno'. All origins are words connected to doubt, and that's where 'I dunno' comes from. Not so ridiculous after reading the article, really. SpeedSuicune 18:56, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Exp yielding
Whenever I play my Pokemon White, whenever I defeat an Audino, it's exp yielding varies. e.g when a level 39 Pokemon defeats a level 17 Audino it gives about 400-500 exp, but a Pokemon of lower level than 39 yields more than 800 exp. Does this happens to anyone else? Flygonfanno1 11:38, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Starting in Generation V, the difference between the levels of the Pokémon affects the amount of experience gained. For a full explanation, see experience. --SnorlaxMonster 11:42, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks I just bought the game. Flygonfanno1
Secret Power Move.
Is not Audino the only pokemon that can learn Secret Power through level up? If yes, we should point that in trivia section.--Edzward (talk) 14:31, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
Shuffle Sprite
Would someone be able to make a redirect for the file 'Shuffle531WinkingM' to 'Shuffle531M', like has been done with the sprites for Gengar and Sableye? Currently the format does not display the sprite for Winking Mega Audino, as 'Shuffle531WinkingM' does not exist at the moment. - unsigned comment from Hydrachomp (talk • contribs)
Audino's Designer
Trivia: "Audino, along with its Mega Evolution, were designed by Megumi Mizutani."
Origin: "Audino was designed by Ken Sugimori to be a new Pokémon for Nurse Joy to have in the anime, specifically in Unova and another cute Pokémon"
So...did they both design It? I'm sorry for the dense observation but It's a bit unclear/confusing I think. –I'm with stupid → TrvpQveen 08:47, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Origin
I think it's fairly safe to say that Audino's wing-like ears are based on the caduceus. Icycatelf (talk) 16:35, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
Broken References
The first reference on this page links to a site that no longer exists - it redirects to the main pokemon.com website and its page on ORAS as a whole, not the Audino page. Would it be reasonable to change that link to point to an archived copy of the page from before it was converted to a redirect? (E.g. Wayback Machine or other archive options).
