Talk:Base Set (TCG)
I've replaced the following Japanese stock images with scans of my English cards: 10, 15, 17, 22-25, 27-32, 34, 35, 37-69, 72-75, 81-85, 87, 88, 90, 92-95. That's all I have in Base Set, starting Jungle now. Feel free to fix any crooked images or damaged cards, I don't have time to check each image carefully but I tried to remove any obvious dirt spots or creases. Thevictor390 17:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Shadow vs. No shadow
I have 2 cards that don't have a shadow. So I am wondering should we show the diferences between cards with a shadow and without a shadow???? --Munch 18:06, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Most of the differences were errors fixed between the non-shadows and the shadows. --Shiningpikablu252 19:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
The article does not talk about that. Should we put that the cards have errors? --Munch 22:31, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
New Scans
I have replaced the following Japanese scans with English ones: 89-71, 76-77, and 79. --Munch 16:25, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Aye, cheers for that, I was following your edits as you uploaded 'em and I've categorised them on the Archives. Cipher 16:28, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
English or Japanese?
Should all the card pictures be in English? I'm guessing so, but if not, what determines if they have a japanese pic? --Hey1031 15:11, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- The language of the card does not matter, it is just the ones we have. Getting an image is more important than what language it is in. MoldyOrange 15:44, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have the complete 1st edition Base, Jungle, & Fossil sets in english. I'm new and not sure how to upload the pictures, or well how to do anything right now. Could someone help?--Pikachu Collector 19:11, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think I have it figured out now! Any other tips would still be appreciated!--Pikachu Collector 00:48, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Logo
Obviously, there's no logo for this set. Can we use the TCG logo instead, seeing as it technically was the logo at the time of the set's release? ~たかはりい 05:43, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Only have set title translations for languages a specific set is released in to reduce confusion?
As is normal on Bulbapedia, a lot of pages have an In Other Languages section. For a page like Berry this makes sense, since it contains translations of the word/item Berry.
But for set pages it's in my opinion pretty confusing to have set title translations, even though the set was never released in that specific language. For the Base Set there is for example a Russian translation, as well as two Chinese translations (Cantonese and Mandarin), even though the first Russian set was XY and the Chinese Base Set was only printed in simplified Chinese in Hong Kong and Taiwan (and was never released on Chinese mainland).
I've seen this with other set pages as well, sometimes even including languages that aren't even among the 14 available Pokémon TCG languages (i.e. Danish/Swedish/Vietnamese/etc. translations), and it's to be honest pretty confusing.
I've been collecting Pokémon cards for 6.5 years now and know for each set in which language it's released in (I've made an overview of that here in the past: https://efour.proboards.com/thread/7392/sets-languages-compilation-overview-list). But I wanted to discuss it here first to see what other people, primarily Bulbapedia admins/moderators, think of a change like this? Should we just keep it as is, with seemingly random set title translations that are currently causing confusion, or should ALL set pages only have the translations of the languages it was released in?
