Talk:Exclusive item
Gonna try something a little ambitious
I love Dungeon 2, and I love to collect the different trade items. I felt like making a list of them, (at least, the ones I have in game) but there are so many of them, I was thinking of making a list of them.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User:Toastypk/TestArea
Obviously a WIP, but would this sortable table be well suited? Keep in mind that there are over 1000 of these items; four for each Pokemon (except legendaries) and four for each of the 17 types. That's 491*4 + 17*4... damn, that's just about 2000 items.
Is this a good way to proceed? ~Toastypk - Loom. 04:01, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
We might want to seperate them off into groups, since only the Legendary pokémon items affect only one pokémon. Sailorleo 13:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Correcting myself, there are several non-legendaries that do only affect one pokémon, but they are very much an exception to the rule. Sailorleo 14:48, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
After some investigation, I've come to the conclusion that the tables won't work, at least not the way you have them set up. There are a number of pokémon that don't have items of all rarities (or any items at all, in some cases).
What I've found so far:
Eevee and it's evolutions have a forked chain. The * and ** items only affect Eevee. The *** items are all earned by trading Eevee items. There is one for each of Eevee and it's evolutions, and they all affect only the partiular pokémon they're designed for. All of them except Eevee's add a thematic status effect (Paralyze for Volt Collar(Jolteon); Cringe for Aqua Collar (Vaporeon); Burn for Fire Collar (Flareon); Confusion for Light Collar (Espeon); Blinker for Dusk Collar (Umbreon); Freeze for Icy Collar (Glaceon); and randomly poison, paralyze, or sleep for Virid Collar (Leafeon)). Eevee's *** item, Prism Collar, makes Eevee immune to weather.
Tyrogue and it's evolutions have a forked chain as well. The * and ** items only affect Tyrogue. The *** items are all earned by trading Tyrogue items, there is one for each of Tyrogue and it's evolutions, and they affect only their particular pokémon. Tyrogue's *** item, Pep Sash, has the same effect as a Joy Ribbon: gain XP when injured. Hitmonlee's *** item, Counter Ruff, creates a permanent Counter effect. Hitmonchan's *** item, Victory Belt, randomly seals attacks on a successful hit. Hitmontop's *** item, Power Bangle, bypasses Reflect and Light Screen.
In addition to their normal *** items, several baby and legendary pokémon have a second *** item that are not received by trading. The item descriptions claim they are occasionally found on hatched pokémon, but several also appear as mission rewards. I have stats for most of these as well, but not all of them.
The following pokémon families definitely have full items sets: All starters (from all regions), Pichu and evolutions, Meowth and Persian, Skitty and Delicatty, Munchlax and Snorlax, Scyther and Scizor, Lapras, Cleffa and evolutions, Igglybuff and evos, Togepi and evos, Sneasel and Weavile, Teddiursa and Ursaring, Smoochum and Jynx, Elekid and evos, Magby and evos, Azuril and evos, Plusle, Minun, Castform, Wynaut and Wobuffett, Bidoof and Bibarel, Shinx and evos, Pachirisu, Buizel and Floatzel, Drifloon and Drifblim, Cherubi and Cherrim, Bonsley and Sudowoodo, Mime Jr. and Mr. Mime, Happiny and evos, Gible and evos, Riolu and Lucario, Mantyke and Mantine.
Phione has a full item set, but Manaphy might not. I'm not certain about that at the moment.
All types have four items.
I'm going to wait on entering data until I have an appropriate design idea. I may end up putting things up in plain text broken off into sections to effect groups. Sailorleo 09:09, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Manaphy does not have a Specialist item. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links
I added a section to deal with Eevee and Tyrogue's unusual setup, but I couldn't recreate the table format used on the normal pokémon section without the four-line setup. Some help adjusting the table so the three blank lines aren't needed would be helpful. Sailorleo 08:00, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- Added a new sub-template for them, hope this makes everything good ^_^ - Kogoro | Talk to me - 08:11, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Name change
Do you think that Specialised Items is a more specific name for this? I mean, not all items gained like that can be traded in (such as the Legendary items). Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links
- A good name for this in my opinion is "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 booster items", but that might be making it overspecific... I guess "Specialised items" is okay. A reference to PMD2 in the title could make it better though...? - s.Combusken 05:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Sky version
Wanting to add some info, but I'm not a wiki writer so write in this info how it should look.
Explorers of Sky call these Exclusive Items. Along with new items, a new feature is available to view all of the Exclusive Items usable by one of the Pokémon in your current party; this should make it much easier to make a comprehensive list.
Occasionally Croagunk allows you to trade a certain amount of any type of item for one that you want, in the same way as recycling for prize tickets, it's available as a daily thing like a normal shop. You can trade for any 3-star item you want if you trade any other 5 Exclusive Items for it, for example...
Some new Exclusive Items include one for Mawile and full sets for Vulpix/Ninetales as well, I can provide a couple if needed. Until a Wonder Mail S generator comes around that'll have to suffice...Furseiseki 11:59, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
There is a list on Serebii of these items, but they are translated, not the names that are in the English Version (eg. the Blasto-Fang is known as the Blast-Fang - a minor difference but still). However, these could be used alongside other people's knowlegde to start entering them into these tables. I also think that when we do find some out, they should be placed in a seperate table - as the old items are all in the new game as well.
Also, Shaymin appears only in Sky and she has an exclusive item. Should her item be listed here or no?
Item Mixing Question
Say you have a Ravage Ring and a Power Globe in your Treasure Bag and your Riolu is hit by an opponent's confusion attack. What in Sinnoh happens? Distortion Alpha - Please don't hurt us... 20:59, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
List
List is not full, items are missing - eg. the Sun Scarf which is for Sunflora (Special Episode 3 reward) (honestly there aren't any item for Sunflora on list). I'm adding it. Marked +-+-+ 17:29, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Dust rewards from missions
Hello! While trying to get a Sky Gem, I noticed that the ____ Dust type-exclusive items are exclusively given from mission rewards. So what missions? I've found that only certain missions give Dusts. To give Dusts, the mission must:
- Have a reward of "???" in the mission description, not "[Item]" or "[Item] + ???" and
- Be an arrest outlaw mission issued by Magnemite or Magnezone
Also, the type of dust given will usually match one of the target (outlaw) Pokémon's types. e.g. I once did a World Abyss B26F Tyranitar mission, and it gave me a Rock Dust.
Note: This only applies to game-generated missions, of course. Wonder Mail generators can make a mission that differs from this criteria. Ben79487 21:40, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
Pokémon specialized items - Remove type-colored cell on name
I think It'd be better for the type-colored cell background to only go up to the portrait, Instead of It being Primary Primary Secondary on the dex number, portrait and name; the colored cell can sometimes make the linked name hard to see ( Poison, Ghost, Dark, Fighting namely ).
