Breeding
"The level of a Pokémon will also affect breeding. Trying to breed two Pokémon with a large difference in levels will not result in an egg."
No, it doesn't.--008xtreme 12:03, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Any evidence for it? --Ade Tyshio 20:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- It still works. I bred a level 51 Roselia with a level 16 Ivysaur. --Shiny Noctowl Find the secret page! ♪The oboe is the best instrument ever!♪ 20:47, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Higher?
I heard somewhere that there are Pokémon higher than Lv. 100; is that just Missingno., or is there some other glitch, hack, or cheat that can do this? -Theininen 20:12, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
What about the level X cards in the Pokemon Trading Card Game? X refers to an "off-the-scale" level. How would they get past lv100 in the first place? Bttsstewart 03:10, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Level 100
Hypotheticly, if I have a Level 100 battling another pokemon, and one of the others in my party has an EXP share, and my Level 100 wins, does the other one still get EXP? Yugiohguy1 16:16, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- The Pokémon that is Level 100's exp becomes fixed at that level, so it's exp stays constant. The exp will just go to what wants it next. I'm unsure if the halved exp still applies. I need to check. Gywall(Talk) 16:18, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- The Pokémon holding the EXP. Share always gets half the experience if it does not participate in the battle. Ultraflame 17:39, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Unless there are multiple Pokémon with Exp. Shares. TTEchidna 05:19, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but if there is a lev 100 and someone else is holding an EXP share, then the pokemon with the EXP share get all the exp, unless there are multiple EXP shares. and i have proof if you want it. SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 16:13, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- In which game? I remember half the Exp. being "lost" when I tried it in Diamond. With only one active Exp. Share, of course. Ultraflame 17:01, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Rare Candy
The page states that you can't induce happiness evolution through Rare Candies. I have traded a couple of Eevee to Ruby/Sapphire and gave them Rare Candies until they evolved into Espeon and Umbreon. If tameness resets upon trading, then wouldn't this have not worked? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:34, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
School of Hard Knocks
I seem to recall levels being directly mentioned in EP009; at the very least, Joe mentions the levels at which Pidgey and Pidgeotto evolve, and Giselle mocks Pikachu for being underleveled.
Could someone with access to the episode confirm this? You Can't See Me!`
- I remember this too! I was going to link to the episode article regarding this, but it isn't mentioned there... ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 03:15, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it is there, I just checked; but what do you want us to say about it? MoldyOrange 03:17, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- I guess this quote needs revised: "Levels are famously ignored completely in the anime". ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 03:21, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's what I had in mind. I'll write something up really quickly; feel free to change it. You Can't See Me! 21:39, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Breeding
I heard somewhere that no Pokémon can breed if it is under level 10. Is this true? Taromon777 15:35, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- No, that's not true. If a Pokémon is able to breed, it can breed regardless of what level they're at. It's been that way ever since breeding was introduced in the games in Generation II.
- You might have confused Pokémon's breeding system with that of the Dragon Quest Monsters series. Dragon Quest Monsters does require creatures be at level 10 in order to be able to breed (or go through its successor mechanic in Joker; unsure if the same is true for the successor mechanic in Caravan Heart...). --Shiningpikablu252 17:37, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Manga
In the Pokémon Special manga level is mentioned numerous times. I suppose details should be included, but I do not have enough familiarity with the topic. --MiekL94 20:41, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Dissobediance
Yeah, this seems a little off...It says that if a player has less then two Gym Badges, traded Pokemon will simply flat-out not obey at all, but when I restarted my Platinum game, I started using some Lv1s from my previous save file, and they didn't start disobeying me until they reached Lv10. --Dual 23:40, 22 October 2009 (UTC) (Sorry, forgot to sign)

More then listed
added furret, but you can also get other underleved pokémon in game, like a underleved jynx in a trade in lg, and underleved gyrados in the lake of rage. I think this article needs work(The snargret guy 01:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC))
- Personally I think that we should just get rid of all the examples, since there are so many examples in the games. The section reads like it is just giving one example from each set of games, in which case it could be problematic due to people arguing over which to include. Werdnae (talk) 19:02, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
ok, maybe just significant ones that have an advantage, such as jynx (The snargret guy 17:20, 5 May 2010 (UTC)0
- Significant? Advantageous? What are you talking about? It's opinionated. No. ht14 02:38, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
What? Jynx saves a heart scale, I'm not saying jynx is good, it just saves having to remeber the move. read the post (The snargret guy 17:20, 5 May 2010 (UTC))
- Before anyone else chimes in with anything concerning the Jynx matter, I should note that the trade listed that caused this conversation is wrong. Someone mixed up two different in-game trades, resulting in false information. You don't trade a Spearow to get Jynx, you trade a Poliwhirl for it instead. Spearow is traded for Farfetch'd. Yes, you can find underleveled Poliwhirl without having to resort to the Pomeg glitch, but even then the resulting level would be 20...--Shiningpikablu252 19:05, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
ok, I just got owned. never mind then :-) Thanks for clearing that up! (The snargret guy 17:21, 16 May 2010 (UTC))
Tentacruel can be caught in HG/SS at level 17 in the water near Cianwood, maybe this is an interesting example, since normally it only evolves from Tentacool at nearly double that level. Mez 13:46, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
The most extreme example of underleveled wild Pokemon I have run into was the level 10 Seaking i found while surfing Route 24 in SoulSilver. Goldeen evolves into Seaking at level 33.Chammy 17:20, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Something funny that happens
When you level up a Pokémon (at least in BW, not sure how it works elsewhere), and one of its stats is higher before than it is now after levelling up, the stat will actually go down to that number, and the "change" will display as "+?2", if it decreased by 12, for example. Ztobor 04:39, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
NPCs acknowledge levels?
There is a soccer player in pokemon BW who said this after being defeated: "My Pokemon and I still haven't practiced enough... To put it in levels, we're maybe a 50...", implying that NPC do not know the levels of their own pokemon. should this be added to trivia as soon as the server is back to normal? Milkgila 10:52, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Hariyama
In X and Y, Hariyama are encountered at either level 22 or 23. Makuhita evolves into Hariyama starting at level 24. I'm just mentioning it here since I'm unsure of the location to put it in the "Underleveled" section. Bigpboy (talk) 18:56, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
Pikachu vs. Snivy
One of the reasons Ash's Pikachu initially lost against Trip's Snivy is because Zekrom had taken away Pikachu's electricity. Should this be noted? - unsigned comment from NerfPlayeR135 (talk • contribs)
Lance's Dragonite
So, in the "Underleveled" Section, it is mentioned that Lance has a Dragonite at Level 50, when it can only be obtained at 55. But can't Dragonite be obtained at Level 50 from the Toys "R" Us event giveaway from 2008? --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 17:38, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
- That's a special case. It's not worth worrying about. They're still both underleveled. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:46, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
Anime
Either this is my dub's doing, or Clemont mentions level in XY012 as part of his presentation. Eridanus (talk) 13:36, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
List of underleveled Pokémon?
Underleveled species encounter occur in almost all trivia spaces, but we don't have a dedicated list of them. Shouldn't we have one? Trainer Yusuf (talk) 12:55, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- There are a few pages being worked on. I suppose they'll get merged if/when they ever get mainspaced. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 13:01, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Granted, I still do not know how that table should be formatted, which is why it is in that state. So, it likely is going to be some time before there is even a chance. --Super goku (talk) 17:16, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
