GSDS Johto Dex?

If there is a GS remake and they decide to alter the Johto Dex (as pointed out as being possible by Unown Lord here), should the Johto Dex we have now be moved to List of Pokémon by New Pokédex number, while the new one is made here? TTEchidna 08:31, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes I think the same... I also think the posibility of some kanto pokemon to be removed from johto and pokemon from hoenn/sinnoh to be added, like shellos to have another variation. Hfc2x 16:45, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
CoroCoro confirms it: Jdex is staying the same as it was in GS. TTEchidna 19:47, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

no actually the only pokemon that are confirmed are the ones that were shown in the scan it doesn't mean that pokemon later on the dex will be different. This page show the ones that we know http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/johtodex.shtml --DSDark 00:50, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Additionally, for all we know, that screenshot could be an early version of the Pokédex display and the new Johto Pokédex may indeed use a different order than the old one. My : The final order is still unpredictable. No outright assumptions should be made until closer to release. --Shiningpikablu252 01:57, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Serebii.net says that some of the Numbers have changed. Like Growlithe and Arcanine now being 129 & 130. Jake200493 17:36, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

I know and I posted at the bottom of the page about my opinion on how to handle this after comparing all the numbers from Serebii.nets' update and as I said it is better to wait. -Tyler53841 18:41, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Correction

Since only admins can edit the page, I'll have to ask that someone fix the names on the Abra family. =P Erik the Appreciator 20:54, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Fixed. --electAbuzzzz 14:40, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Lol at TTE

You said it was confirmed that Johto Dex was staying the same. Look at this thread in the forums http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?t=18166&page=498

Growlithe's number is different. Max King 12:54, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Technically, the screenshot that pointed to the new Johto Pokédex being the exact same as the old one was probably an early screen. The actual order of the new Johto Pokédex won't be seen finalized until the game release, and it's impossible to accurately predict an ordering, so I predicted the odds of a Pokémon making the new Johto Pokédex. (Yes, there's a very good reason I gave Pikachu only Medium odds--it probably would have been a Low if it weren't the series mascot!) --Shiningpikablu252 14:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, I think that until the exact numbering for the official Pokédex of Heart Gold and Soul Silver is revealed then there should be little to no updates regarding this since even if some Pokémon have new numbers it would be too confusing, of course if an administrator wants to then there could be a minor reference and those games' page.Presently after doing some fact checking I would say that Growlithe, Arcanine, and Lapras are presently the only Pokémon with a different number. -Tyler53841 17:13, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

THE REMAKES ARE RUINED D: TTEchidna 08:47, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Not really, it's an improvement, the newdex was kind of lame, it was just 2 regions mashed up togehter. Max King 11:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Wouldn't be surprised if this update to the Johtodex numbers is to remove rare Generation 1 Pokémon like the starters or Legendaries especially if Nintendo were to try to block the pre-evolutions and evolutions of Pokémon that were introduced in Generation III and IV like they did with the FireRed and LeafGreen remakes. -Tyler53841 14:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I expect the same thing. I'm much more interested to see if they make a "Kanto" regional Pokedex that also has most/all of the Generation I and II Pokemon. Or, perhaps, in addition to a shortened Johto (and maybe Kanto) Pokedex, a New New Pokedex, that has every Pokemon reordered, ala the DPBP or the FireRed/LeafGreen habitat thing. "This is the only regional Pokédex thus far without a two-part evolution line based on cats."

Meowth and Persian, class dismissed. Or is that refering to a Johto version of that theme in which Johto has none? Shiramu Kuromu 19:32, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Take it off here and put it on Jdex. Does Unova have cats? I admit, I haven't learned them all yet... —darklordtrom 09:35, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Move proposal

It was rejected because:

New Pokédex Mode, and the TCG card even uses "New Pokédex".

This is a poor justification. NEW POKéDEX MODE is the name of a software feature. The TCG also capitalizes New Pokédex because that's the card's title. The Pokédex is referred to as new POKéDEX in regular speech by the games themselves, which means that the device is just called Pokédex, not New Pokédex. SatoMew2 (talk) 14:00, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
