Talk:Xerosic
Name meaning
"Xanthin" (French) is an insoluble carotene derivative that provides the yellow color of some flowers. "Xeros" (German) is the Greek word for "dry." "Xante" (Italian) could reference the name Xanthe, which means "gold" or "yellow." "Xero" (Spanish) is the compound form of "xeros."
"Xerosic" (Japanese and English) may reference xerosis cutis, or abnormal drying of the skin and/or mucous membranes. Considering that all of his names reference either dryness or the color yellow (which can be associated with jaundice, another disease of the skin and mucous membranes), who wants to bet that this man has a terrible skin condition? Of course he has a skin condition, his skin color is pratically light blue. If he does not have a skin condition, then he is either the human equivalent of a shiny Pokèmon, not exactly human, or just a stylization for "really-pale ginger". Trough Trevor is more of a straight-up ginger, his skin is still pale, but still recognizably on the pinkish side. Maybe Xerosic is supposed to be a non-caucasian albino with a dye-job. --Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 12:12, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- I was being a little sarcastic! That said, the blue undertones in his skin suggest that he isn't an albino. It's odd for official character art to feature such an abnormal skin color, so it's definitely something to watch out for once the games come out. Arpha (talk) 22:34, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
Xerosic was the 2nd in command of Team Flare?
Let's think about it for a second. No admin beside from him was told to activate the weapon or to stop activating it. He's also the second most powerful member of Team Flare only Lysandre has higher levels then him if you don't count Emma's levels. Should we really count him as a scientist? How about put a word which means 2nd in command above the Scientists but below Lysandre?--Hydreigonfan1 (talk) 10:36, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Speculation does not belong on articles. The official site noted him as one of the five Team Flare Top Scientists, nothing more. The games do not note anything beyond such either. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 10:42, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
This is because he is a guy and albino, so he gets to have higher levels. --Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 19:16, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
Colosseum reference?
I noticed that the Expansion Suit pretty much allows the wearer to hack, steal, then control any person's Poké Balls. Could this count as a reference to Colosseum seeing as you stole Pokémon from others in that game too? Frozen Fennec 20:05, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
