Actually Reversal and Flail at under 4% HP have 200 base power, making them as powerful as Selfdestruct.

Technical stuff.

Flail and Reversal don't halve the opponent's defense; they have about half the power of Selfdestruct. --Jshadias 19:32, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I'm talking raw base power. Evkl 19:37, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Why does raw base power matter? Selfdestruct and Explosion would have double the base power if it fit in one byte, instead they have pretty much the exact same effect as if they did have double the base power. Selfdestruct is twice as powerful as Flail, meaning that Flail is not as powerful as Selfdestruct, which is what was stated. - Jshadias 11:52, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Isn't Defense only halved for Selfdestruct and Explosion in Generations I and II? --Shiny Noctowl 18:08, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Updating schedule?

Perhaps we could implement an update schedule for this part? Weekly? Bi-weekly? Monthly? And then, after deciding on the time period, assemble some sort of update crew? I've noticed that the same facts have basically stuck there for quite a long while... most especially through the spring of 2006. So, what does everyone feel? Tom Temprotran 01:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Please feel free to take on the job yourself. - 振霖T 03:38, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
All right. Shall do. Tom Temprotran 03:54, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Bi-weekly might be good. Although I think we need trying to varying the info more if possible. This one had all game info, over half of which were evolutions, when we've had plenty of new anime info and other info added just as recently... the one before that, three of the four were about locations, though I guess there was a lot of location information being added at that time... --Pie 03:55, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Sure. Of course, usually there's not a whole lot of new pages being made... Maybe completely random pages, sometimes? That'd get people to see some things they may not have known previously. Plus, I tried this time to find the most interesting of the newer articles and recent edits. Tom Temprotran 06:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Updated: 10/24/2006. Tom Temprotran 08:58, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't know about the last thing on the current revision. There were no new evolutions to previous Pokémonin Generation III. Just two new pre-evolutions.--Pokencyclopedia 10:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Ash & Ritchie

«...that Ash and Ritchie have had three of the same Pokémon?»

  • Pikachu
  • Butterfree
  • Charmander

and Taillow? --Valepert 18:22, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Did you know?

Just curious, shouldn't we try to present facts from all over the franchise/fandom, as opposed to purely game facts? I usually strive for:

  • One Anime fact
  • One Manga fact
  • One Games fact
  • One TCG fact
  • One Bulbgarden fact

This shouldn't be too hard to mantain, no?--Paperfairy 14:52, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Hay guys

Last updated in May. Who was handling DYK updates? --Pie ~ 04:08, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

I was, but then someone else started doing it, and then... they just stopped. I'll update it now. --TTEchidna 04:58, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Brendan

Pokémon Special interprets the white blob on Brendan's head to be a hat. Admittedly the official artwork doesn't really lend any support to either side of the argument - but the shape of it, I would say, is quite unusual for hair. - 振霖T 15:37, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Colour in G4

I'm not sure if I understand what's meant by "no way to access it" but if you mean it doesn't have a use in D/P, it shows up when browsing boxes. When you see a "zoomed-out" or "summarized" view of the boxes, each pokémon is represented by a single square of its colour.--AuthorX 09:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Editing too often?

I think it's being overdone... it's been edited for more than grammar/spelling every day since the 30th. Once a week is good enough, not once a day. TTEchidna 23:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed this... It used to be so rarely, and now it's practically every day. --DarkfireTaimatsu 23:04, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
It's all Pokémon Lover King Mario's fault. He but up non-trivial things and I changed a couple of them. Then he went and changed it again. I think he should be banned. He's always messing things up. --ケンジガール 00:17, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree, AND, if I recall correctly, Missigno. et al do indeed mess up the game, specifically the Elite 4 Hall of Fame. And I don't think messing with item amounts is exactly normal behavior either. MK 11:09, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Deoxys with Aeroblast?

I know that Lugia learns Psycho Boost through Pokémon XD, but how does Deoxys learn Aeroblast? --Shiny Noctowl 22:50, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Uh.

So can anyone just update this if they find some neat info? --ニョロトノ666 01:28, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Pikachurin

  • ...that a new protein was discovered in Japan called Pikachurin, named after Pikachu, which helps carry electrical impulses from the eyes to the brain?

This protein has been proven and I find it hilarious and awesome, is it ok to put on the DYK page? I would have put it myself but wanted to consult with others first. ~Toastypk - Loom. 16:54, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
We just updated it, wait about two weeks and we can update it again and we will be able to change more than just one thing then. MoldyOrange 17:11, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Updating it at this moment, I'll put it in, OK? Seeing as that last comment was about two weeks old, and it said to wait two weeks, I'll assume this is OK. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 19:36, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Did you get that from the Nintendo Magazine? I did XD--Davidaipom 19:42, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

    Doduo and Dodrio?

My trivia regarding the necks are pretty cool. You should check it out and see if it's worthy for a "Did You Know?" However, it's still a suggestion. ht14 02:19, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Umm...this "Did you Know" section has been the same for quite a while. Same with Character Spotlight. ht14 18:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
    Wording needs work....here:
  • ...that starting in Generation IV, Doduo's and Dodrio's male and female sprites are reversed, so that in that generation, it's quite possible for a male-sprited Doduo to evolve into a female-sprited Dodrio?
  • ht14 12:48, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

    One of these times...

    I'm going to add this:

...that Bulbapedia has a completely useless internal page called $1, created by that bumbling idiot Zhen Lin for no apparent reason?

On April Fools Day this year. In fact, I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve... unfortunately, it's half a year away. --ニョロトノ666 20:27, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Good for you. On the same day, I'm going to code a bot that will post "POLITOED666 IS A TROLL" on everybody's userpage. Just kidding. Or am I? And April Fool's day is next year :D LordArceus 20:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
But... Zhen didn't make the dollar page... TTEchidna 09:01, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

    Platinum Countdown

Why did you take the Platinum Countdown thing down? It was good there. BAM, lol? -- Clarky13 02:41, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Apparently TTE had told to take it down, though this has happened offscreen offbulbapedia since I didn't find it from RexRacer's or TTE's talk page. BAM. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 13:19, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm... Does this mean that TTE and RexRacer are friend from offscreen? -- Clarky13 22:30, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
RexRacer's AIM, probably. It won't be surprising if he actually has TTE's AIM...I mean, I even have both of their's.--Tavisource 22:34, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I have most admins on AIM and some other users.--Coolピカチュウ! 22:39, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Why everyone uses AIM in America? Use MSN for a change... (btw, this is starting to go offtopic) UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 23:21, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
MSN is better, you can create customized emoticons, but everyone else has AIM, so whatevz.--RexRacer -talk 23:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I have both. But I tend to us MSN more. Everyone add me clarkypap@hotmail.com. And yes this is getting a bit out of topic. So, I'll leave it at that. -- Clarky13 23:31, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

    Raichu trivia

It's not correct. That "glitch" in question is only a translation error (texts were translated from JP Blue but in-game trades were taken from Red and Green), nothing else. There is no glitch in game mechanics that would allow your Raichu to evolve. (cannot remove it myself due to the new protection) UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 21:43, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Why is it protected? Turtwig A Contributions Talk 22:05, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

    Sooooo.....

...Is this going to be unprotected anytime soon? I kinda wanted to update it. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 21:11, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

As that page is included on the Main Page, it is likely to be protected forever. If you'd like to add something, just put it on the talk page and a staff member will consider the item. We do need to update these... —darklordtrom 20:46, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
It used to be anyone could update it. I kinda miss that... - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 21:41, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Technically, in the last update, the number of items went down from six to five for no known reason. I'd re-add the sixth line myself, but I've been on probation since the start of the month and can't do it...--Shiningpikablu252 16:55, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

    About Legend...

...is it necessary to have it? I mean, why do we need the Pokémon LEGEND.png logo in the Main Page? We never used Pokémon logo English.png as far as I know. Why should we start now? Change it to Legend, please. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 21:41, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

It isn't the logo, it's the name. It's like that on the card, where as Pokémon isn't written as the image. MaverickNate 22:18, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, but, why do we have to use the logo? I mean, we don't use any logo for the upcoming versions and such. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 22:38, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Are you just going to pick a different thing with a logo and say that we shouldn't use Legend? The Legend image is not a logo, it is part of the name. MaverickNate 00:12, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm not saying that you shouldn't, I'm just not okay with using it, we can just write Legend and it would be the same, the issue I'm having is that Pokémon LEGEND.png it's not fitting the background, but that's just me, so nevermind, I can't be the voice of everyone and it's just me, forget it. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 02:57, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

    Did You Know

This section is out of date. It says the final episode of the DP series will air September 9, which was 6 days ago. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 12:07, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

There was supposed to be a featured article on September 1st. The did you know replaces the FA every 15th of the month. It will be changed today, but it was due to the lack of a FA. MaverickNate 12:38, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

    Sentence structure

The item on Pokémon Master Black & White is horribly structured. I suggest replacing it with:

...that CoroCoro refers to the new manga Pokémon Master Black & White as a "walkthrough comic"?

Please change it. --AndyPKMN 13:01, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

    Choose and Option

If you're finding updating a pain, or just because it's better, I would recommend using choose and option tags. These randomise what is shown on the page, and keeps the information changing. A much better did you know, since it displays different information from last time (which you would now know)...

Taking the previous update as an example (and mass-scale it), we could:

<li><choose> <option>...that Charizard and Rhyhorn have the exact same cry? </option> <option>...that Cynthia and Tower Tycoon make cameo appearances in the twelfth movie?</option> <option>...that Missingno. is the only glitch Pokémon in Generation I whose name is entirely composed of typographical characters? </option> </choose> <li><choose> <option>...that Poké Balls in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga are marked with numbers to distinguish them from one another?</option> <option>...that no Pokémon introduced in Generation III can learn the move Minimize?</option> <option>...that N will appear as a Supporter card in the upcoming Red Collection?</option></choose>

    Which would give:

  • ...that Cynthia and Palmer make cameo appearances in the twelfth movie?
  • ...that N will appear as a Supporter card in the upcoming Red Collection?
Go ahead, try purging the page. It comes up with different info. (Kjhf | Talk) 15:33, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

    Fact to consider

Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I've discovered something worth noting.

Ash's Squirtle was undoubtedly one of his most reliable Pokémon across Kanto, Orange Islands and part of Johto. However, it has been used in three Gym Battles ever - a single attack loss to Blaine, a single attack taken from Jessie in Giovanni's stead, and a win over Rudy's Starmie. I think this is worth noting if it hasn't been done so already. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 11:04, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

It's way too subjective for DYK. How was Squirtle more/as reliable than/as Pikachu, Bulbasur and Charizard? And Bulbasaur's both Kanto Gym battles were also short and resulted to his loss.--Den Zen 13:04, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
