Hala's Hariyama (Japanese: ハラ ハリテヤマ Hala's Hariteyama) is a Pokémon owned by Kahuna Hala.

In the anime

As a Makuhita

Hariyama debuted in To Top a Totem!, where it assisted Hala in clearing some logs from the road. These logs were revealed to have been dropped by a group of trouble-making Alolan Rattata and Raticate.

In Trial and Tribulation!, Hariyama was Hala's final Pokémon in his grand trial against Ash. Hariyama went up against Pikachu, but was soon defeated by Breakneck Blitz, giving Ash the win.

Hariyama briefly appeared in Family Determination!, when Ash, Professor Kukui, and his classmates, minus Lillie, visited Hala. This was after Lillie ran away following Lusamine's possession and disappearance through an Ultra Wormhole at the hands of Nihilego.

In Showering the World with Love!, Hariyama watched a Minior shower alongside its Trainer.

Hariyama briefly appeared in Full Moon and Many Arms!.

In Securing the Future!, Hariyama joined the rest of Alola in showering Necrozma with light so it could return to its true form. Afterwards, it and Hala used their Z-Move to shower Necrozma in a blinding amount of light.

In Beauty is Only Crystal Deep!, Hariyama was used to battle a Pheromosa that was attempting to steal a Fightinium Z from Hala, only to be defeated.

In A Timeless Encounter!, Hala was revealed to have used Hariyama in the past as a Makuhita. It was first used to battle and defeat a Trainer and his Alolan Sandslash. The match was observed by a young Professor Kukui.

In Z-Moves Showdown!, Hariyama was used to battle a Guzzlord to prevent it from the destroying the Manalo Stadium. With a combination of Z-Moves, Hariyama, among the other island kahunas' Pokémon, managed to send the Guzzlord back into its Ultra Wormhole.

Personality and characteristics

Hariyama is a strong Pokémon, as seen in Trial and Tribulation!, where it proved itself to be a tough opponent for Ash's Pikachu. Outside of battle, Hariyama is rather gentle, as seen in To Top a Totem!, where it allowed Rotom to photograph it and also allowed Pikachu to climb over its body.
