Request
Hello, Kenji; I have a little request. Well, I don't know if you know, but I know something that I saw when I first saw BW022. This little error amused me when I saw the Japanese episode. However, I want to add it to the article but I honestly have no idea how to describe it. I was just wondering if you could help. Here's the scene. Ataro 22:59, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Don Battle trainers
Should they really be considered Characters of the day? They'll appear in more than one episode. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 22:39, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think they should. Except for the ones that got knocked out. Their future appearances are uncertain. But everyone else can be counted as recurring. --ケンジのガール 22:42, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Bonjour
Sam, if you've some time, drop by on AIM please. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 04:51, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Ahem..
Exactly, what do you mean "thoughout the events?" Zorua kept switching from her normal self to taking Langley's form throughout the episode. But think about it, why would Zorua be there in the crowd with them? It makes no sense... Ataro 10:49, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Because Luke's in the crowd too... And she's Luke's Pokémon. She's even seen disguised as Langley when Bianca is trying to find her. --ケンジのガール 10:53, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, if that isn't enough to convince you that it's an error. Would the fact that Langley two doesn't have a torso count as one? I checked...the background has the same color as her shirt, but no features (her shoulders are missing) Ataro 19:48, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you look between Kenyan's arm and body, you'll see that Langley/Zorua dose have a torso - the colour seen is that of Langley's clothes not the wall behind them Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 19:53, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to gather the voices this week due to technical difficulties caused by my wonderful Satellite receiver. Sorry. Also, think you'll get on later today? ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 13:44, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

- Uh...YEAH SPEAKING OF THIS. :D I just realized we also get CN with Western Coast times on everything as well as Eastern. And since it hasn't aired on the Western channel yet, I just set that to record~ x3 We should have the credits within a few hours~ ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 14:22, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- I thought it was acceptable to put down on the error section that this Pokémon did not recharge after using Hyper Beam. Other than that, it was the second gym battle in a row that a Pokémon didn't recharge after using the variation of the move*. PattyMan 01:46, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Movies
Wouldn't it be better to place in the movie infobox templates opening and ending songs, like with episodes? For example, the twelfth movie had High Touch 2009 (I think) and Battle Cry. While there are multiple ending songs, they can all still be placed. :) tc²₆tc26 04:10, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
The seasons/series infoboxes
Is there a reason why we need both the series and season infoboxes when they can easily convey the same information in one template?
|
The links to the season pages in the seasons box could replace the links in the series box that just take you to a lower point on the listing page - that's really kind of redundant seeing as there are already links to the listing pages in the series template, and the contents tables at the tops of those pages make navigating easy enough already. Why not have one catch-all template? It would allow direct access between the episode listing pages and the season pages - something not possible at the moment.
|
This seems considerably more efficient, and can be placed at the bottom of all the pages that use either of the two templates without making the box bigger or losing anything other than the direct jumps in the series episode lists.

Update on Giovanni's secretary...
Earlier, we discussed the possibilities of Meowth referring to Giovanni's secretary by the name Matori in the Japanese version of BW023. The Chinese and English dubs of the episode have since aired - she did not have any name at all in English but was named a name that can read as "Matori" in Chinese. With this, I think the issue deserves to be revisited regarding if the page should be moved to Matori or not. --The Great Butler 05:36, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Drew's Flygon
I think it is a simalur situation with Nando, where his Roselia/Roserade took a back seat to Kricketune. Drew's Flygon has been part of very significant battles, also assisted Drew while trying to capthure Arcanine and rescued May that time Harley and TR were working together. In May's epic battle with Drew at the end of the Kanto GF, Roselia did not even feature whereas Flygon did. I'm not saying Roselia is not notable but I'am saying Flygon is as notable, maybe more, but as always it is your call.
Perrmission to create Drew's Flygon? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 18:25, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- Drew's Flygon was already deemed unnotable by the editorial board two years earlier. I don't think anything has changed to give it more notability.
- I don't find Flygon to be the same situation as Kricketune. Kricketune obviously surpassed Roserade as Nando's main Pokémon. The same cannot be said for Flygon. Roselia is still Drew's main and most used Pokémon. And he used it against May in their last known battle together and appeared in cameos as Roserade. Flygon has yet to be seen again.
- Sorry, but the answer is no. --ケンジのガール 00:01, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Abuse category
Hi, a month and a half ago I (rudely) made a second edit to my userpage, and was put in the abuse category. Just wondering, would edits to spaces such as the walkthroughs count for the toll of setting me free, or does it need to be the mainspace? Because I don't want to make a bunch of fixes to the walkthroughs and still not be let off. Blake Talk·Edits 02:14, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Hey Kenji, I just wanted to let you know that over the next few days I'm going to be restoring and buffing the quality of lots of anime episode header images. I won't be changing their content, but instead saving the images and doing things like correcting color-balance and removing compression artifacts. As a result, it seems that upon uploading said images it takes 30-60 minutes for them to be cached across all of the bulbapedia servers, in between which they may disappear on the articles. The reason why I'm going on a bit of a spree is because I've noticed a ton of episode images that are either really dark, or have bad compression artifacts (i.e image noise, random squares of the wrong color, radioactive skin, etc). Just to clarify, I won't be swapping any of the images for different ones, I'll just boost the quality on the existing ones. If an image is so low quality that it's not salvageable, I'll take a screenshot of the episode from my Pokemon DVDs. In that case, I'll make sure it's the same scene as depicted in the original image. If you'd like to see an example of my work so far, you can compare the current image with the previous one for the episode image of EP001. I've actually uploaded replacements all the way up to EP005, but EP002-EP005 are still being cached and are only viewable when referenced directly at the archives. I hope you don't mind the temporary outage, but I think it's worth it :). I intend to do as many images as possible, I may even turn this into a personal project and over the next few months fix any low-quality images for the entire Pokemon series. Thanks for your time :) GetOutOfBox 23:45, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- Just a followup, it seem to take longer for the archives to sync with the bulbapedia servers than I originally thought. Sometimes it's only an hour, but sometimes it's around 3-5 hours. Is there any kind I can put on the page to inform potential editors that the image will be available within a few hours? The thing is, the image displays correctly when clicked, but the thumbnail doesn't generate. Is there any trick to speed up the process? GetOutOfBox 14:31, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- Another follow up, ignore the last message. It appears there was just a lot of server load last night, now the images seem to appear after half an hour or so. So no worries regarding outage times. Sorry for spamming your talk page :) GetOutOfBox 18:45, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

About message received
I got your message and I have been having difficulties with trying to find the voice actors for the Pokemon in the English dub. I just want to know how things normally work here, so I don't make the same errors again. I don't have any sources for credits so I don't rely on that a lot even when watching the closing credits as they don't tell me a lot about who is credited as a voice actor in that episode. Another thing is I have been trying to figure out the voice actors of some of these Pokemon and I can't find anything that would help me prove it, so unfortunately I having been guessing which the voices just by what their voice sounds like. I don't mean any harm to this website, I am only a beginner at editing pages and I still have a lot to learn, before I can edit these pages correctly Ctc1017 04:25, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Ctc1017
- All I asked was that you don't add "vaen=" in the templates if you don't have anything to put in there. It looks better if you don't add it until you have something to put in it.
- Also, you left this message in my talk archives. Please leave messages on my current talk page. You can get there by clicking the の in my signature. --ケンジのガール 04:36, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
Okay1 As I said on my own talk page, I am only a beginner on editing so I may make errors while I am editing. As for some Pokemon. I was going to ask you about some pages like Chili and Cress because they had "vaen=" way before I started editing those pages. They were found on the "In the anime" part on Chili's Pansear and Cress's Panpour respectively. I also have no sources that tell me who is credited as a voice actor for some of these Pokemon as a lot of these were left blank as if some uncredited in the English and Japanese versions of the anime. Ctc1017 04:43, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Ctc1017
- That was a mistake on my part. The "vaen=" should not be added until the voice actor is discovered. It got left behind after I removed the voice actor but not the parameter. Still even after you added it,you were warned by me and other users not to add it unless you have something to add through the edit summaries. I'm not saying it's your fault. I'm simply asking you not to do it anymore because it isn't correct. You are not being punished for it.
- And honestly, if you don't have any kind of sources and are not sure about something, it's probably best that you don't try to make guesses. --ケンジのガール 04:58, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- The thing is, we cannot add info on the basis of assumption. If it's not in the credits or any other source, it's better to leave it as it is rather than assuming it. Also, the empty parameters doesn't look good on the articles. That's why Kenji asked you not to add them. Thank you, have a nice day ahead :) ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 05:14, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Pokémon Genders
Honestly, I tried reasoning with people. Can you please listen to this? Ash's Charizard, when he was a Charmander, Ash's Squirtle, and Ash's Bulbasaur basically referred to themselves as "boku". You and the others stated that the key defining factor for a Pokémon's gender being confirmed in the Anime is either it is explicitly stated or if they are shown side by side with another Pokémon and have gender differences, and last time I checked, "boku" is a Masculine pronoun, mainly used by young boys, so I really don't see how that is NOT a confirmation of gender, especially when, thanks to the episode about the insane Togepi, they pretty much made it quite clear that homosexuality can't exist between Pokémon (otherwise, why would they be confirmed from attract?). And in the case of Charizard, considering the fact that Charizard is implied to have mated with Charla, a Charizard who is pretty much an obvious female (I mean, come on, it has the eyelashes, the head bow, and both the English and Japanese versions gave her a feminine name). I mean, if the fact that Ash's Butterfree mated with a pink Butterfree in Bye Bye Butterfree was proof enough to have Ash's Butterfree be confirmed male, I honestly don't see how that doesn't confirm Asn's Charizard as male, as well. I tried explaining it, but people are claiming that it's not that, and even when I posted it on Ash's Charizard page, it didn't work. Weedle Mchairybug 22:17, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- One more thing, even IF the boku thing doesn't confirm anything, the part about Charizard and Charla certainly does. Weedle Mchairybug 22:19, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- "Boku" proves nothing. Anabel used it to refer to herself. For a non-Pokémon example see Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden. It may be typically male but it is certainly nothing close to "proof." --The Great Butler 22:48, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I just had to reply to this. Butler already said most of what I wanted to say about "boku", kinda like how you can call a girl "dude". But about Charla, eyelashes and a bow don't always equal female. Yes I'm sure Charla is a girl, I just wanted to bring up that reference. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 22:56, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, but tell me how many males are named "Chara" or "Liza", and maybe, just maybe we can truly claim it to be unknown. If there aren't any, then it's pretty much a given for at least Charizard. I mean, considering the fact that attract doesn't work on the same sex in the Anime, it's highly unlikely that they even would have gotten together if they were the same gender seeing how homosexuality doesn't exist among the Pokémon species. Weedle Mchairybug 23:48, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

You are bringing up a long since settled agreement. We don't say what their genders are unless revealed by Trainers or Attract. Please leave this alone. Thank you. --ケンジのガール 00:51, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Well
I don't agree with edit warring or BCCouches's behavior but you must admit that the word "main" has been added to Cheren and Bianca's too precipitously. From what we've seen in BW Saga so far, those aren't protagonists, just side characters who join Black at certain occassions (like the Striaton Gym Battle) but the Saga doesn't resolve around their journey. They also don't have working Pokedexes. I'd really wait some time before deeming them main or non-main characters. At this point, calling them main characters is just pure speculation. --Maxim 16:30, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
- I know nothing of the manga. I'm just trusting that the people in charge of writing the articles are correct in what they write. Episode numbers
Why were my edits reverted? I wrote This is the ?00th episode of the anime to be produced. Since it was worded like this, it was correct. XVuvuzela2010X 01:01, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oh... produced. While I did read that wrong, what about all of the side episodes? The anime still produced those. They are just not part of the main series. --ケンジのガール 01:05, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't take those ones into consideration, since the other milestone trivias (like the one on EP200) make no mention of them either. The ones on EP100 and EP200 actually said the entire anime. But yeah, if they are re-added, they should be reworded to the ?00th episode of the main anime, or something like that. XVuvuzela2010X 01:17, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Is it possible...

- Still, even though they do romanize to those doesn't meant it isn't possible that the romanization is the correct way to write it. For all we know, it could really be Karita or whatever. Ataro 08:36, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

For future reference
Excuse but for future reference, and in no way do I mean to offend you, but why did you delete my page on healing?Max9499 12:23, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- It wasn't needed. Also, it was noticeably lacking in information and you did not refer to the Manual of Style when making it. --ケンジのガール 21:41, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
My talk page
Why did you revert the edit I made to my talk page? I am a talking Scrafty! Talk to me! 23:09, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- I see now. OK! I am a talking Scrafty! Talk to me! 23:14, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Zorua
I think he removed it because she has a main page now. At least that's how it is on another page. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 00:45, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary to remove the voice actor from the page just because it has its own page. It looks awkward in fact since his other Pokémon have theirs. --ケンジのガール 00:52, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah. I was just letting you know his possible reasoning, since it's done that way on other pages~ ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 00:56, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Hey
I have a question. Why don't we have a Pokémon template for Burgundy, Stephan or Langley? I mean, they are rivals, but Trip and Bianca have one. :--SuperAipom7 (Wanna chat?) 18:52, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Those templates are used as navigation through the Pokemon's pages, a character will usualy only get one if two of their Pokemon have their own page, but Trip and Bianca have them because it is almost certain that Pignite and one of Trip's pokemon will be in need of a page, as well as Servine and Minccino Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 23:17, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I decided to make some in my userspace as the other three might get notable Pokémon soon. :--SuperAipom7 (Wanna chat?) 01:33, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
RANT
Excuse me if I sound harsh, but I'm just trying to be as civilized as possible. :D
Okay, so at the top it says: "Do not add any trivia". Shouldn't we at least try to emphasize that as long as it is worthy enough, we can add it. When I see "Do not add", that means "Do not add anything at all cost" even if it is a good piece of information. Since March up until now, I've been undoing every single editor's edits to trivial information. Can one of the staff members change it to make it more clear so that I and others know exactly what to get rid of?
Also, after I undid Sui's edit, I went to his/her talkpage to talk about adding trivia. After doing that, you eventually undid my edit and later on Sui makes a sneaky comment back to me using your comment that you gave to me when you undid my edit. I will NOT tolerate condescending behaviors when all I did was try to help. Please have a word with Sui so he/she doesn't do it again to me, to other staff members, or other editors. We all have enough bullies in real life as it is. I understand that I may be taking it too far, but it is an insult to me.

- You should probably talk to MAGNEDETH about the banner. But it was mainly put up there to discourage trivia like: Dusknoir is the only one of its family to have visible feet. That's a simple observation that anyone can see. With Sui's trivia, not many people would be able to recognize the recurring artifacts and doors. He also took the time to gather screenshots and explain it in detail. When trivia is well thought out like that, it is worth a second take instead of just removing it.
- In the case of Sui's reply, I don't feel like he was trying to be condescending towards you. It looked like he was just quoting what I said. --ケンジのガール 06:26, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you for taking the time to explain to me.
- But he didn't have to repost what you already said, because I had already seen it. It was basically a slap in my face. But that's how I felt, you can never tell through the Internet. :/ I guess the best way to deal with sarcastic and sneaky remarks is to ignore them. Han Ji-Wan 00:40, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Meowth's Pokemon
I meant to bring this up a while ago since the page is protected, but, naturally, I completely forgot, lol. Basically, should Meowth have a Pokemon section? Since in A Scare to Remember, Jessie, James and Meowth all have temporary ownership of Pikachu. It is currently listed as being temporarily owned by both James and Jessie, but only James and Meowth order it to use moves (Thunderbolt, in Meowth's case). And he could also be considered to have had temporary ownership of Togepi, while it was still an egg. I'm not sure if there are any others that could be included. XVuvuzela2010X 23:30, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've read the argument. Personally, I don't believe Meowth is in the same league as Mewtwo. Mewtwo showed skills as a Trainer rather than just being there to order Pokémon around like Meowth did. Also, Brock took care of Togepi's egg more than anyone but I don't see it on his page. In short, I don't feel Meowth needs a Pokémon section. --ケンジのガール 02:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Editing My Page
The only reason I edited my page twice was because the first time, my mother was being dumb and hit save page when I was away from the and was using the bathroom. I would still like to add to my page once a day, adding more daily. Please let me edit once a day, and not until September 15th, thank you! Panjohn 02:03, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Please look at it from my stand point. I have no way of telling that what you are telling me is the truth. I can only go by your history to which in total you violated the limits four different times. If you can show that you care more about editing the mainspace than your userspace, maybe I'll consider shortening the length of your userpage protection. --ケンジのガール 02:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- I definately will! Please shorten it!
Panjohn 19:20, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- What she said means go and edit the mainspace, and if you do a good job, then she'll consider shortening it. Not before. Werdnae (talk) 19:42, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- I can't edit due to her ban. Panjohn 00:24, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- She never banned you. All she did was protect your userpage. The mainspace is actual articles, e.g. Bulbasaur. As per the userspace policy, you must balance out edits to your userpage with edits to the mainspace. There is nothing stopping you from editing the vast majority of actual articles.
