It contains old discussions of topics relating to the user. Please do not add or remove any content from it. |
Upload images to the Bulbagarden Archives instead of linking to them from other sites. Additionally, Pokémon is spelled with an e-acute, and all new pages MUST be categorized. --PAK Man Talk 03:55, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
New pages
New pages must be categorized. TTEchidna 03:17, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Put [[Category:(category name)]] at the bottom, filling in (category name) with whatever category you want it in. If you want it in multiple categories, do it again. Just check out the very bottom of most pages. TTEchidna 03:30, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Poli, don't make me have to remind you again... C-a-t-e-g-o-r-z-e. Deck archetypes should go in the Deck archetypes category. And don't forget the Project Decks notice! TTEchidna 23:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Link templates
They're wonderful. Use {{TCG|Set name}} to link to a TCG set, as opposed to just square brackets. Compare Fossil to Fossil. Also, since Mysterious Fossil is a TCG card, try to follow the guidelines in Project TCG... heck, it might be best to make separate articles for the "old" Mysterious Fossil and the "new" one, since they're pretty different. I'd say put the old one at Mysterious Fossil, and the new one (if its text doesn't change at all to the present) at Mysterious Fossil. Of course, I barely have anything from beyond EX R&S... so I dunno when they started using the new one. Whenever they did, though, put it at Mysterious Fossil (Set name #). TTEchidna 16:48, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Of course, they don't work in redirects...--Shiningpikablu252 23:14, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
TCG card names
When linking to them, above all, DO NOT use the plain old square brackets. More often than not it'll lead to a redirect to the article on the Pokémon species as it is across all media (but mainly in the main series of games), but sometimes it'll end up at a disambiguation page that has no information on the card itself. I would personally, when making articles about powerful decks in the TCG, link to the actual card being used with the {{TCG ID}}
template. Basically how you use it is to set it up like so: {{TCG ID|TCG set|Card name|Card number (English releases)}}. For the Team Rocket set's Dark Golduck card, which is #37, use {{TCG ID|Team Rocket|Dark Golduck|37}} to make Dark Golduck. Sure, it may result in a red link... but that just tells us that we still need to make the article.
Hoo boy... I'm gonna have to have a talk with Happy Mask Man and Pie... I don't think the TCG's yet covered in the MOS as much as other things. Anyway, I've made an article on a classic TCG deck, Haymaker. Use that as an example, even if it's little more than a stub. We need to improve the scope of the project greatly, going into more detail... I've never played a Haymaker deck before, though, so I'm going with what I remember. The strategy of the deck needs to be used, as well as a typical card list. TTEchidna 05:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you again! Politoed666 15:48, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- You know, you can also append s's to a link: {{TCG|Energy card}}s does this: Energy cards. Alternatively, redirects from the plural can be made. TTEchidna 02:50, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Uploading files
That's done at Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki that you have to register again for. I know it makes very little sense, but by using it that way all images can be used everywhere on Bulbagarden or something. Anyway, just click "Upload File" in the toolbox on the left side of the page. Register if you haven't already, and when you do, go and upload the image. You have to, of course, tag it with the drop-down menu. TTEchidna 03:31, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, yeah, you gotta register your email address. Zhen put in some security features so that people wouldn't upload porn and stuff... if you ever saw what happened to the featured article of Bulbasaur back on Wikipedia you'd know what I mean. TTEchidna 22:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Pearl team
Might wanna edit that... you're currently kinda using Darkeiya's stuff... TTEchidna 01:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
yeh...I know, and I'm never gonna get around to it, so I might as well delete it altogether. Politoed666 01:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Pokéfanon
Is there a Pokéfanon section of Bulbapedia? ~Murzon-I specialize in GRIMERS-n-MUKS!
- I'll get back to you on that later. Politoed666 01:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
?
Are you gay? Michael24 12:05, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh, sorry I just saw the box saying that you are straight even though you support gay rights. Sorry if i offended you, it's just I didn't see the box. Sorry. Michael24 12:07, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. -Politoed666 17:35, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Picture List
It's way too long to post on this page. A full list of Project TCGDex articles that need card pictures can be found on User:Politoed666/The List.
Adding the pictures to the articles is easy. There's a field in the article's Infobox called Image. Put the name of the file into that field and voila! The image is linked!
One more thing: If you can't upload an image yourself, refer The List to someone who can. --Shiningpikablu252 02:56, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. I'll add it to my to-do list and start soon. -Politoed666 20:01, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I found a pokemon fanon website. But thanks anyway. Murzon 22:50, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Ph34r
It probably is the same Ph34r. This is very bad, very very bad. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Fun 21:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
We can take him Right?
- Yes we can. I'll revert edits until an administrator blocks him. -Politoed666 21:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll help too. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Fun 21:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I just hope this isn't like The Great Bulbapedia Turkey Shoot. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Fun 21:10, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Yea, I bet that he has a million windows open and he is going to save tem all at once --Theryguy512
- Oh, jeez... -Politoed666 21:15, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Why dont we just wage war against Ph34r? PichuLover
About the Pokemon TCG Project
I've been thinking. Maybe I do kinda want to join the Pokemon TCG Project. I do have a scanner, but scanning cards may take forever or never, depends what my mom says since I have to ask her to use it. But I guess for now I'll just be considered to be a "Origin and trivia contributor" for now. Anyway I just wished to ask who I should consult to if I wanted to join the Pokemon TCG Project. Thank you for reading. -Mudkipchan 01:18, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
User Buddhist
Check this part of Spiritomb's page. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Contribs 22:44, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that makes sense... But still, you two, don't get into revert wars.
- An explanation of the chosen Pokémon should be on the tag page... TTEchidna 00:51, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- But doesn't Meditite make sense, too? And isn't the connection between Meditite and Buddhism more understandable to the average fan? Oh, and don't worry. I am far too mature to get into a revert war. Even if this doesn't go in my favor, it's no skin off my nose, and I don't hold it against Shiny Noctowl. -Politoed666
Man, take a look at this page. Read the part that say "Yoga" Oh, and this one--Haruka uzumaki 19:59, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Glitches
You can appeal to a member of the editorial board if you want. They just aren't candidates for speedy deletion since current policy allows them. --FabuVinny T-C-S 02:22, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Usually I do sign my comments. I seemed to have just had a brain fasrt this time around. Same goes for the spelling mistakes. Yes, glitches aren't supposed to be there, but the fact of the matter is that they are, so they are deserving of articles, or at the very least one covering the general topic. --Manga-in-a-bottle 02:42, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Meh, I like froggies so I'll forgive ya --Manga-in-a-bottle 12:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Deck
Since you know a lot about the TCG, will you please rate my Ampha-Gon δ Card Machine deck? --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Contribs 01:49, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
You know, I am thinking about writing Magma Spirit once I figure out which Magma's Baltoy and Claydol - maybe Queendom, too. -Groudon465 6:55 p.m., 16 October 2007 (CT)
AmphaGon
Yes, you have my permission to fix the format and make the changes to the decklist. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | Contribs 01:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's not quite done and I'm getting offline, but you can check it so far in my sandbox. -Politoed666
Don't worry, I got him
He's been taken care of. Thank you for letting me know about him. --PAK Man Talk 00:46, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Project Decks
I'll probably eventually get to another deck. Babyporter just happens to be one I am extremely familiar with since I played it for so long.
grammar
um...... it's the way i talk........I don't really know "decent" grammar. and what the hell does "cos u ben on bulba long enuff to no it be good?" mean, anyways? PichuLover
- "'Cause you've been on Bulbapedia long enough to know it's good." Also, Decent. Click the link. Then, after you read that, read this: Grammar. Then, after you read that, ask TTE if you should use decent grammar. -Politoed666

Thanks for the help
I appreciate you helping to revert everything that the troll caused. I'm also sorry I reverted that one edit earlier tonight like a noob. I realized that I made a mistake, you just beat me to correcting it. I hope you don't hold it against me or anything. Albedo667 01:36, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it. I appreciate your concern for this wiki and I hope you like it and decide to stay. -Politoed666

New Users
Do NOT assume that new users are automatically sockpuppets. It's rude and unwarranted. I understand that you want to be vigilant, but you're going overboard in automatically telling new users to f*ck off. Stop it. evkl 19:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, that was Shiningpikablu252. He didn't sign his edit. I agree with him, though, because these impersonations are obviously all sockpuppets, and they should be blocked before causing too much damage. If there is a new user with an original username, I'll keep my mouth shut. However, this guy has gone too far. -Politoed666
You're not scaring him by telling him to f*ck off. This is the internet, he's got nothing to be afraid of. If anything, that's encouraging him. evkl 19:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Like I said, that's not me. I don't remember telling anyone to f*ck off. But if I did, I apologize. I'm not a bad person, but I just have extremely little patience for vandals. However, I guess I don't have any physical evidence that these people are vandals at first, so I won't do that. -Politoed666
Ha. I know you're not a bad person, but I just don't want to cultivate a culture of anger or ill will here. evkl 19:23, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
