Standardizing "Available Pokémon"

I'd like to update the formatting of the walkthroughs that have been done, but I've noticed for games that have three versions there doesn't seem to be much consistency in which Pokémon are included in the walkthroughs. In some cases, only the Pokémon found in the game(s) that the walkthrough focuses on are included, while in other cases the Pokémon from other version(s) are included. I figure there should be some sort of standard for these and I see three possible ways of going about it:

  • The data for all three games is included, meaning the list can be copied unaltered from the location page. So, for the Diamond and Pearl walkthrough, the Platinum data would be included.
  • The data for the other game or games is only included when it matches with the game(s) the walkthrough is concerned with. For the Diamond and Pearl walkthrough, data for Platinum would only be included when it is the same as either Diamond or Pearl. (It might be better to just glance at the example to understand this one...)
  • Only the data for the game or games the walkthrough is concerned with is included. For the Diamond and Pearl walkthrough, no data from Platinum would be included, even when it overlaps with either Diamond or Pearl.

I think that the last option would be best because it presents only the necessary information for the walkthrough. The first and second options contain information that is irrelevant and if a reader is interested in the available Pokémon for other games they can simply click a link in the walkthrough to go to the page of the location they are curious about. Additionally, the second option may be misleading if the reader assumes it is presenting all the information for the other game or games.--The Plausible Farfetch'd 07:21, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

I think the best way is to only include info that is relevant to the version(s) in question, like adding only Diamond & Pearl availability for the DP walkthrough. Even if the other version(s) of a region has the same encounter rates, it doesn't make much sense to have Crystal rates in the Gold & Silver guide, for example - it's just extra, unnecessary info cluttering things up. If someone needs to find all available Pokémon for a certain location, there are pages outside of the walkthroughs that deal with that. Also, if there are Pokémon normally found in an area, but cannot be encountered until later (like an early route with a pond, but surfing/fishing cannot happen until later), that encounter data doesn't need to be added. By the time the player can surf, fish, or dive, then they're not concerned with the early walkthrough pages anymore - they'll be using the location or species articles to track things down.
Hope that made sense. Thanks for the help, by the way. — KC 10:31, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Righto, the surfing and fishing thing is a good idea too.--The Plausible Farfetch'd 20:53, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Me again. Were you led here because of Tavisource cuz you used to be a normal contributor at Pokemon Wikia before you were here. Slipknot Darkrai 20:09, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky Walkthrough

Since there is some stuff going on Post-Story, should we merge that together with the final chapter, or should we make separate articles? -- ☆YoshisWorld☆ 22:36, 7 August (UTC)

Split them up. Post-story extras can have their own page. — KC 17:33, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Pokémon Rumble Blast Walkthrough?

I don't own the game yet (combination of not being out in my country and shipping issues) but should I make notes and start constructing a walkthrough when I do get it? It is completely unlisted on To-do so I thought I'd ask. Happy to help, Epsilonexus 16:39, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Certainly. The To-Do list just needed some updating. — KC 12:37, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Is it just me, or...

The total number of completed walkthroughs is one out.--Chalkwriter 17:44, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Platinum walkthrough

Hello KCorp4000, I'm a new user here on Bulbapedia, Deruffy, and I think your walkthroughs are fantastic and I wanted to know how often do you udpate your walkthroughs, more specifically the Platinum walkthrough? PS.: I'm brazilian, so my English may be a little bad.--Deruffy 04:31, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Deruffy, and thanks for the compliment. School takes up a lot of my time, especially early in the week, so I try to update as much as I can on the weekends. Was there a part of the Platinum walkthrough that you thought needs attention? I'm still working to update the older guides, so I haven't spent much time on the newer games yet. Your English is fine, by the way. — KC 10:55, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Walkthrough editing

Hey KCorp4000, it's Deruffy again, I edited some pages like Pidgeot's Name Origin with fonts of other Pokémon sites and I like to know if I could edit your walkthroughs with parts that I elaborated from other sites such as Psypokes.--Deruffy 02:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Walkthrough Summaries

First off, I'm brand new to wiki editing (I just had to get involved with making Pokémon walkthroughs), so I won't pretend to be an expert and I will gladly take any constructive criticism.

Now, I've noticed on the walkthroughs so far that each page (section) contains sub-sections based on geographic location, e.g. Littleroot Town, then Route 101, then Oldale Town, etc. However, I think it would improve the usability of the walkthroughs to begin each page/section with a short "to-do list" as a sort of advanced organizer, and dividing up the page according to that list. Geographic location divisions would still appear much as they do, but as bold subheadings in each "to-do" section instead.

To-Do list items could include obtaining any necessary items, getting important phone numbers, fighting rivals, defeating gym leaders, capturing specific Pokémon for HM use, etc.

If you'd like to see an example, I can create one. I didn't make one yet since, as I said, I'm brand new to this, and I wasn't sure if that would be too presumptuous.

Thanks! poikins 07:10, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

On another note Diamond and Pearl are complete. Also I have some ideas for new sections for Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver that have some value but will require some work to put together especially the HeartGold and SoulSilver one. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:08, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

That's good to hear. It seems that Emerald is already complete as well, so that leaves Platinum as the last main handheld that still needs work. Anyway, let's hear these new ideas then. — KC 16:21, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

First on Platinum a separate section for catching the Regi Trio needs to be made. Also here are two important facts, firstly they can only be challenged and caught after defeating the Elite Four, and secondly if the special event Regigigas was transferred to another Gen. IV handheld game and then that Platinum game is deleted and restarted then they could be could be collected again (which is why I have two copies of that game for that purpose).

Now for HeartGold and SoulSilver a trainer guide for regular trainers that can be re-battled can be set up. Since I decoded a long time ago and added information to this site that by defeating the Elite Four and later collecting all 16 badges it can be used to powerup their teams. There are 4 phases 1. first battle, 2. First rechallenge, 3. second rechallenge (requires the defeat of the Elite Four) 4. third rechallenge (requires all 16 badges). Also each phase must be completed once. Now my plan is to use a graph or something together with their team data, levels, and money earned after each battle. While the first phase doesn't need any help for collecting data since it is already posted, the 3 rematch phases do and so either of us can collect and save the data which will require some working on, especially the Kanto trainers need extra caution since the First rechallenge can only be done once. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:31, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Since I am not busy for the summer I will start a new game for Platinum today and work on finishing it myself. Also from what I can tell the Kami Trio will need it's own section when Black 2 and White 2 is released since they can't be caught the normal way and also have to obtain their new forms. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:38, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
That's good, work on Platinum first so we can get that closer to completion. If you wouldn't mind working on the Heart/Soul rebattles after that, that would be great. I'm trying to find a new job this summer, and it sounds like you have more time than I do to devote to it. All I can handle right now is updating the older guides, which I'd like to have done before B2/W2 hit in October. — KC 17:37, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
I can store the HeartGold/Soul Silver stuff in Microsoft Word. As for the templates I would need help with that. But pretty much that is all the information that I dug up from gameplay. Also on further inspection Emerald is not as complete as you think due to missing some post-game data such as Johto Starters. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:45, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

One final note is check out the trivia on Milotic's page on how to evolve it from Feebas for those versions (Also so you know is that I was the one quickly discovered the drawbacks after my first failed attempt to evolve Feebas due to overfeeding it with Poffins in Platinum and confirmed the mistake after my second attempt worked by using no Poffins to help this time). -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:51, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Platinum Walkthrough

Already underway and check back frequently to see my progress as I am working very hard to put all this together. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:11, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

I see that, and thank you. I appreciate the effort. — KC 18:24, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

A new problem is that unlike us the other contributors are not putting their Pokémon to not include Pokémon that are found in the third version games from the main games, i.e. Marking down Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in the Ruby and Sapphire guide only or Emerald in the Emerald Guide only. Could you help by adding a rule about this in for Project Walkthrough if you want. -Tyler53841 (talk) 01:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

But anyway check out the Ruby and Sapphire guide I did and check out the changes that were made to include the Emerald details I made sure to leave out such as at the Available Pokémon sections. -Tyler53841 (talk) 05:31, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Fortunately that's a minor issue, as simple as changing a "yes" to a "no". The project page has been updated to address this. — KC 12:41, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks and just so you know that second post was just used as an example to better clarify what I was talking about. -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:26, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Breeder Characters

Just to make sure you're up to date, apparently certain Breeder-type trainers on certain routes can be re-challenged in Black 2 and White 2 by leaving the route and then letting them spot your character again. There teams and prize money are usually the same. The places I have identified them so far are Route 4 and 6 and Lostlorn Forest. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:41, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Interesting. I've read about that, but as I'm only at Virbank City, I haven't encountered that yet. Thanks for the update. — KC 17:19, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
Also when you reach that hidden area of Castelia City through the Sewers where Eevee can be found for some reason the time it takes to enter into a regular battle (non-rustling grass) seems to take longer than other areas so I recommend that for finding Pokémon in that area Sweet Scent is a good choice to use to make it easier and less annoying. Lastly when you get to the Driftveil Drawbridge I recommend writing the same approach that I did for the original Black and White guide since collecting and selling the wings (excluding the Pretty Wing) is an effective way of making money. -Tyler53841 (talk) 18:27, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Black 2 and White 2 walkthrough.

Few places, such as Route 4 or Reversal Mountain are going to give you some trouble as they're different between version and the way you will find in one version might not work in the other. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 13:43, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm still considering how best to accommodate differences like those, but they will likely end up looking something like the season-dependent descriptions of Twist Mountain from Black & White. That way, people only need to read about the iteration that applies to them. It would actually be easier if they only differed by season, as a switch statement could show only the text for the current month, but as far as I know, there's no way to tailor it depending on the reader's version. — KC 16:48, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
How you get the Pokémon rates, anyway? (Because I don't type unless it's other than percent). Marked +-+-+ (talk) 16:51, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean by "other than percent", but I try to cross-check against other sites. If the rates match up, I add them. If they don't, I leave them blank. — KC 18:53, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Other than percent such as Rare (Grottos), One (some other kind of Pokémon), once per week (another kind of Pokémon)... and well, that way? Oh... the worst part is rustling grass (or rippling water). 19:09, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Opelucid City

Following your Gym battle against Drayden, and then your battle against Team Plasma, while the city remains frozen with Ice for the remainder of the main game check out the neighboring routes Routes 9 and 11 as they will also be partly frozen and could use some coverage. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

They will be covered soon enough, when that page of the guide is done. I've just arrived in Nimbasa, so I can't worry about Opelucid just yet. — KC 18:53, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Anyway I just got done with the main game so that is pretty much all the information that I want to give to you regarding special details. Good luck with the rest of Black 2 and White 2.-Tyler53841 (talk) 01:57, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon Dream Radar

Check out the improvements to that page, it should help with the walkthrough. Since I got a 3DS for Christmas, I've learned all sorts of things about it that can help. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:33, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Platinum Walkthrough

Pretty much after 4 days of hard work I completed the main coverage of Pokémon Platinum. There is still a few more adjustments including some of the coverage for a few legendaries but I don't need to tackle it right away. Also for the Black 2 and White 2 guide I was thinking of making a special page for a mini-walkthrough on the Dream Radar which includes the coverage for getting the Reveal Glass. What do you think of this? -Tyler53841 (talk) 04:23, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Good to hear. As long as the story is covered, the extras will follow in due time. Regarding the Dream Radar, please go right ahead with a subpage. I don't know much about it, so I'd appreciate your help while I finish up the post-game. — KC 17:00, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll handle that page in the same fashion as the special Regi page I did for Platinum. At this rate the main series will be caught up when X and Y come out. I'll admit it is a good thing I have a second Platinum copy for data storage purposes with the special Regigigas on it which I trade between copies for catching the Regis before trading back as it helped with the accuracy of that page's information. Also on the Dream Radar thanks to the work SnorlaxMonster and I did for that page I can use the template to help with the decorations. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:11, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Pokémon Conquest Walkthrough

I wanted to add a Conquest Walkthrough which would be a guide on how to do things like how to get through the main story or how to get all the Legendary Pokémon, and tips like that meowth can increase the amount of gold obtained in the mines and witch Eevee evolution to chose first. The guide would be good also because most/all of the stuff I just said I haven't seen anywhere else on Bulbapedia so having a guide on getting the Legendary Pokémon and how to get other rare Pokémon would be good.TrainerX493 (talk) 22:44, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

If you want to make a walkthrough, that's none of my business, but I'll address what you're saying about missing information.
  • (Advice on how to progress in the game and which Pokémon one should try and get the Hero/Heroine's Eevee to evolve into does not belong anywhere in the mainspace.)
  • In lack of an appropriate location, I haven't added Meowth's mining property, but I guess you can just add that at the bottom of the Meowth article's Side game data section, below the sidegame infobox.
  • The locations of and requirements for legendary Pokémon are found in the kingdom articles. I've only checked and confirmed some of them, so feel free to correct any errors - I'm confident there are some, but I haven't tested them yet.
  • I assume that the "other rare Pokémon" you mention are the Pokémon found in the kingdom articles' Special Pokémon sections. Those I haven't confirmed are hidden, so if you can confirm any of those, just remove the hidetags. If you have any other information about these Pokémon appearances that is not included in the articles, add that too. Yvnr (talk) 08:31, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
That would be great. Please focus on the main storyline first; acquiring the legendary Pokémon can be included there. If there are many Pokémon like Meowth that have special effects, these may warrant a list on their own subpage; if not, they can be noted when encountering the individual Pokémon. Like Yvnr said, certain info is unsuitable for the mainspace, so save tips or advice for the Appendix space. — KC 14:52, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Per your request, your account has been renamed from KCorp4000 to TylerGray. You will need to re-merge your Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, and Bulbagarden Archives accounts via the account manager, which can be accessed via your preferences. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 03:24, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

XY walkthrough.

Never refer to player by NPC's name, it is confusing. Also, the switches were a bit of overkill, at least in my opinion. Eridanus (talk) 16:12, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

My apologies. In hindsight, it was certainly becoming excessive. Fixed. In addition, I reverted the Footprint Ribbon requirement because the official guidebook says levels, not friendship. Tip: Have you raised your Pokémon a whole lot? If you have a Pokémon in your party that you have raised at least 30 levels since you received it, you can also get the Footprint Ribbon in this house. (page 186)TylerGray 18:14, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello ^_

Just a friendly question. I would like to know your personal opinion about which main series Nintendo DS Pokemon game/s is/are the best (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Heartgold/Soulsilver, Black/White, Black2/White2) and which would you recommend people to spend the most time playing? For any reasons, like the most robust/vast postgame for example? I currently can't decide which should I give the most attention to. Some people have like hundreds of hours spent into any of the games, but I'm yet to play long-term a Pokemon game and would like to, too bad I'm indecisive.

I liked Platinum and Heartgold, not sure how much and which better, but both are very good games and can see myself replaying them. I have started to play White and White 2 but am yet to finish them both, not sure why, I guess I'm not that sentimentally attached to them as to Gen IV. because the anime series, Best Wishes ruined some things and kinda put me off. and the depression and apathy kinda carried over to the games, ruining the full enjoyment from them I could have... Thank you a lot. Also just curious about your walktrough project, what there is left to be updated for HG/SS? They look complete and fine to me, unless you already have done so :)--Elveonora (talk) 17:53, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Of that group, HeartGold/SoulSilver is probably my overall favorite. I enjoyed their story the most, and having a second region with another eight Gyms means the post-game lasts just as long as the main game. Mt. Silver and the Battle Frontier add to this, as well. The others have their own merits, of course. The Sinnoh games have the Fight Area, and B2W2 have the World Tournament. As for the HG/SS walkthrough, it is complete (all relevant info is present), but still lacks some maps. They could all use some minor cleanup. —TylerGray 18:14, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

/Gymtag

So, while trying to change some templates across the Appendix: namespace from {{Party}} to {{Party/Single}}, I cam across an issue conflicting with your Gymtag template. It seems, somewhere along the lines, while trying to make the change, including the addition of {{Party/Footer}}, it seems to cause the Leader's Pokémon to not show up and the colored background to expand across the rest of the page. If you have any sort of solution for this, please tell me, otherwise I might just having to remove them from the walkthrough pages and change it to how it is here as to avoid this from happening. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 03:42, 3/1/2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure why that would cause it to have a problem. I'll see if I can get it working properly, but in the meantime please feel free to revert to the old method. —TylerGray 17:32, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

X and Y

Nice work with doing the walkthrough, I will at least help with adding in any additions to provide additional help. Check out my recent update on the Reflection Cave part. An Idea I just had is if you want you can create a special page for locating these special items like the Reveal Glass, DNA Splicers, and other stuff for these non-regional Pokémon for X and Y and you can move my Reveal Glass information over to there. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:44, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

I considered leaving them for a post-game page, but I think it's best to include them on the way through the main story. I missed adding the Reveal Glass, so thanks for catching that. I just updated the parts with Reflection Cave and Snowbelle City; since Shaymin and the Forces of Nature don't appear in Kalos, a short mention in passing should be enough. The DNA Splicers will get the same treatment on Part 16, which should be done in a few more days. Then every main handheld walkthrough will technically be complete, for now. —TylerGray 03:56, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
Okay, that should work, and pretty much the extra Mega Stone stuff should be saved for the post-game, that is why I didn't add it for Reflection Cave. Also I made a slight update on Route 6 about the Rustling bush just to help with people who might need help on knowing how to use them. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:22, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
After looking into this I can tell you that besides Ambrette Town's Fossil Lab for Deoxys, there is also Snowbelle City's move tutor for Keldo and Meloetta's form changes. Fortunately the items for the Creation Trio and Tao Trio are covered in the post-game only. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:55, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

In other news thanks to my receiving the Grand Duke rank at the Battle Chateau yesterday, I was able to update the coverage for the Battle Chateau today, primarily to bring the coverage up to date on rank promotions, but also the difference of achieving the final rank which is done differently from the rest. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Emerald Regional Pokedex Walkthrough

I've been using the Gen III walkthroughs, and noticed that, while they're good at helping you complete the game and get all items, they aren't too helpful on catching non-ledgendary pokemon. I have all of the Gen III games, and would like to create a walkthrough on completing the Emerald Regional Pokedex, which I have done before. How would I get started on this? - unsigned comment from KodakKid3 (talkcontribs)

We don't do Pokédex completion walkthroughs. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 14:32, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Problem

Why are there userspaced templates on the walkthroughs? Userspaced templates should not be used anywhere other than the userspace. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 11:38, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

My apologies. I'll move it now. —TylerGray 11:42, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Bug Catching Contest

I improved the coverage of the Bug Catching Contest for the Post National Pokédex for the HeartGold and SoulSilver guide with primarily a new template and a minor revision of the summary to make it more accurate. Check it out. -Tyler53841 (talk) 17:35, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Pages for deletion

Hey, I noticed you marked a few walkthrough pages for deletion a few days ago. For future reference, if the information has been moved somewhere else, could you please link to it in the deletion reason on the edit summary so the administrators can track it down a little more easily? Apologies if you did and I missed something though. --Pokemaster97 02:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Walkthrough

Nice work on starting the walkthrough. Anyway check out the updates for the ORAS page on the changes as some of these changes will help with planning things out for the walkthrough, such as the changes to the Sootopolis Gym Puzzle since the ice block puzzle can now be handled diagonally because of the 3DS' circle pad. -Tyler53841 (talk) 18:22, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Hiya

What are your thoughts on notating available rematches as they become available during gameplay? For instance, I created a working template where I'm getting the data for other use, but you can also pull those that are available after each badge and note them in the walkthrough as well if you so desire.

This is an ongoing project for me, and I'm about to head back and check the rematches after having obtained the Knuckle Badge, a trek that is usually not taken because Trainers usually head straight to Slateport and don't return to the beginning area until they wrap around Route 115 - or, nowadays, when the rival offers to walk with the player after completing the Meteor Falls events. There may be no rematches from that, but I will be listing them at the above-linked page if you're interested. CycloneGU (talk) 00:34, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

I was not clear above. I'm referring to the walkthrough that you've been working on. Also, my data is updated to defeating Brendan or May on Route 110 now (unless others show up on Route 110 or next door on 103; I highly doubt that though). CycloneGU (talk) 07:57, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
For the few rematch teams I've encountered, I've simply listed them on the first visit to a new area, under a separate header. That way, the reader is aware of the potential battle and we don't need to list every newly-updated team after earning each new Badge. As far as I've seen, Trainers that can be rebattled are only listed as such, but not when their teams are updated, so your project would certainly be helpful. —TylerGray 12:50, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Eon Ticket

I recently got ahold of an Eon Ticket on my Omega Ruby (which I also transmitted to my Alpha Sapphire copy). I was thinking that like what I did in the past with the Regi Trio in Platinum is create a separate page for dealing with the other Eon Pokémon (only because it is not a regular gameplay event and is easy to deal with). What do you think of my idea? -Tyler53841 (talk) 00:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. The event falls outside the main storyline, so that section should also be listed outside the main walkthrough. Call the page something like "Post-Game 1", and we can detail the Mirage Spot legendaries there as well. —TylerGray 12:50, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
An update is that right now I am working on my spare OmegaRuby (which is where I have an extra copy at least one game in each generation for data and item storage purposes since Gen. III). Since it is mentioned that this event can take place after the first trip to Southern Island, I am going to confirm it first and set up my coverage while doing so, which fits with my preferred style of a hands-on approach to conformation (Which I awhile back had to update the FireRed and LeafGreen walkthrough as the Legendary Beasts only appear after the Network Machine quest which I confirmed). But anyway I will probably name the section as the Eon Pokemon Event as a temporary fix and when you get far enough in the coverage, you can move the material to whatever page you want to put it on and delete that page as it would no longer be needed. Lastly the Pokémon from that event will still be at the same level as the one you would get on your first trip to Southern Island, so it can be used in the main walkthrough though I think Latios and Latias' templates will be reversed for both parts of the coverage due to version. -Tyler53841 (talk) 05:28, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
All done, My Eon Ticket walkthrough page is up. When you later get to the coverage for the Post-Game stuff you mentioned, you can move the stuff there and then post a delete tag on that page as it can be considered a temporary solution and it won't be needed later once you get to that part of the game. Also you can use the Latios and Latias templates I used to make it easier to handle that part of the walkthrough in the main game since they'll only need a few modifications for that and that they are at the same level anyway with the same moves. But anyway good luck with the next part of the walkthrough.-Tyler53841 (talk) 18:18, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Nameless Cavern Switches

Since you added them, I'm taking the courtesy of letting you know that they are broken. I arrived at 5:30 PM UTC/12:30 PM EDT, both times clearly well within Mesprit's time period, and the table was lighting up Azelf. I did some test edits to check on what would happen if I removed the correct one for the time period (Mesprit), and suddenly AQzelf was no longer lit up. Meanwhile, when I removed Azelf's switch, Mesprit suddenly lit up correctly. This is enough to suggest that the switch setup was flawed and needs to be rethought.

However, if it can't be set based on a user's time zone (in the settings) instead of relying on UTC, I would suggest that it should not be there at all; computer users have access to a clock just a quick glance away, and it's better not to allow the chance for misleading information in the table; phone users might have to look around the room or go to the next room, but again, there's no issue with getting a little exercise to check the time (it's been reported in the news that one should be standing for two minutes for every half hour sitting, anyway). Talk archives

It seems you have removed your links to your talk page archives. Perhaps you are aware, but I just wanted to give you a reminder that they're supposed to be linked somewhere on your talk page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:47, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

I hadn't realized that, no. But they're here now. Thank you. —TylerGray 19:36, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Nice Work

Nice work on the recent addition to the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire guide. Also check out the minor addition I did to your Southern Island. Just a little something to provide coverage on Latios and Latias (by reversing the order I did for the Eon Ticket walkthrough and making the appropriate adjustments) and provide a minor link to the Eon Ticket walkthrough (which is something I also did for the Regi's in the Platinum walkthrough with a minor summary). -Tyler53841 (talk) 18:56, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

ORAS Guide Missing One key thing

Looking over the hidden area of the main walkthrough I did notice that the guide lacked a section for coverage on an Elite Four rematch which should be done to both provide coverage and also for the information on the Sinnoh Starters. -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:40, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

I also added links to the Mirage Spots since the regular guide does not need to cover them. It would also be a good idea to later start a guide later on to cover the other legendaries not listed in the main guide and you can also use my Eon Ticket walkthrough if you want. -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:43, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Take a look

Check out some of the edits I did to help out since the Johto Starters can be found at the beginning of the Delta Episode, you just need to know the trick to do it. -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:56, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

I am also thinking of setting up a Legendary Pokemon page for the legendaries that can only appear through Soaring (if you have any good ideas for a name I would appreciate it) and expanding the final part of the walkthrough for the Elite Four rematch (it will go after the Battle Resort) and moving the Sinnoh starter information there. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:08, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
The Soaring-exclusive legendaries are covered in Part 20, as that is the earliest they can be encountered, but if you would like to add to it, you certainly can. League rematch data can move to Part 26, following the Battle Resort. —TylerGray 16:48, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
It will be given it's own page like I did with the Eon Event situation called the Soaring Legendaries walkthrough and like I did with the Eon Event walkthrough, a link will also be posted on that part of the walkthrough to lead to that separate page. Also alternatively the S.S. Tidal data can be moved before the Battle Resort and the Elite Four rematch data can be put on that part of the walkthrough in it's place but I'll do it your way. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:05, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Got several sections done already, but once I am done you could proof-read and make any changes. I am also thinking you could downsize the coverage in the main walkthrough if you want, but only after I am done since I only have the Sinnoh Mascots and Unova Legendaries left to deal with, which I'll do after I get home later. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:42, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

No problem. Let me know when you're done and I'll look it over. We can move the info from Part 20 to your new page after that. Then I'll bump the later pages back. Part 25's Battle Resort coverage will move to Part 24, and the League rematches can go on Part 25. —TylerGray 22:25, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
I think it is better to just delete that earlier coverage, as my hard work and any later proofreading/correcting from you will make it unnecessary. Once I get the Giratina picture fixed I'll handle the last two parts for the Unova Coverage. The page should be fully ready by tomorrow. -Tyler53841 (talk) 23:00, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
Just finished the guide so take a look whenever you want. On another note, I notice an something and looked into and confirmed that the Pokémon that the Elite Four and Steven use in their rematch that are from their original team have the same movesets so this will make it easier to handle for the coverage of the rematch with both, the new Pokémon for their teams and the Mega Evolutions are that needs to be dealt with. Also move the Sinnoh Starter details over to Part 25 as well as it correctly goes there and for Part 20 the Mirage Spots section can be converted into a small section with a link to a guide, and if you want the useful strategy I put into Cresselia's section with the Street Pass can also be mentioned on Part 20 as it is something I confirmed myself which is helpful advice. -Tyler53841 (talk) 02:41, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Finished

Took care of the Elite Four rematch coverage, the removal of the material from Part 20. and the moving of the Sinnoh Starter material for ORAS, so all that is needed is proofreading/corrections when you have the time and final choices. Just a few notes for you to know. A. For the Soaring Legendaries guide, for the special items related to certain legendaries I put them at the end of their respective group to display knowledge of where to look for them. B. As mentioned above for the Elite Four rematch coverage, only the new Pokémon needed to be directly mentioned which helped shorten the coverage. C. Since the new material is not as long as expected I am not going to move the Battle Resort coverage for now at least, you can make the final choice on that.

Also I am thinking that with a collapsible template, the move tutor moves could be place in the Battle Resort coverage. But in any case since I handled the hard work it should make your task much easier. -Tyler53841 (talk) 21:33, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

If you want

One Idea I had a while back is that if you ever want to break up the coverage I did for the remaining legendaries for the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire walkthrough, go right ahead which is about seven sections worth. PS. I also took care of the coverage on how to get the Mega Stones for the other two Hoenn Starter Pokémon which also takes place immediately after the Groudon/Kyogre event. -Tyler53841 (talk) 16:47, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Warning

Be careful when trying to make your Hoenn guides the same for the areas that appear in all versions as I had to clean up a few errors for things that did not exist in Generation III (such as collecting Heart Scales with Rock Smash did not exist until Heart Gold and Soul Silver because collecting items from smashed rocks was introduced in those games). -Tyler53841 (talk) 19:08, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

My mistake, thanks for fixing that. —TylerGray 10:33, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
I also fixed the Sturdy issue on the Rustboro Gym for the Ruby and Sapphire walkthrough a while back as well since it was a mechanic introduced in Generation V. -Tyler53841 (talk) 13:33, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

Two Requests

While your way of doing things may be different, two requests I would like to make for the walkthroughs for the Sinnoh games which are simple even if you have to slightly redesign or reword them are a. To keep the information on the Pokémon necessary for completing the sight data for getting the National Pokédex (not counting Riolu or Manaphy on the Diamond and Pearl guide because that was not my work). My other request is to keep the information regarding the legendary golems as well as the keeping the links to the guide I made for catching them in Platinum (including the link in the Snowpoint Temple coverage for all three games) only because those three cannot be caught by normal means in Generation IV (same as Ho-oh and Lugia in Generation III). Those two things are the only personal requests I would like to make to you for those guides, the rest you can change regardless of the difference in opinion. -Tyler53841 (talk) 13:50, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

Bad Formatting

Just to let you know, the "bad formatting" tag is from when you have two <br> tags in a row. Thought I should tell you in case you didn't know, because it took someone else telling me before I realized that's why some of my edits were getting marked as "bad formatting". -Minibug (talk) 21:36, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

Thank you. I didn't know what was causing it, so I appreciate the heads-up. —TylerGray 21:42, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

TM sprites

It's nice to see all the effort you're putting into improving/creating appendix pages. Just be aware, though, that in the Let's Go! games, TMs use the TM sprites introduced in Generation VI instead of the default ones. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:57, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

I strive for accuracy and multi-check everything before adding anything. It bothers me when I miss a detail like that, so another set of eyes is always appreciated. Thank you for catching that. —TylerGray 21:16, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Always happy to help. :-) You are welcome. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:51, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Great work!

You've certainly been busy while Bulbapedia was out for maintenance! Good work on the remaining Let's Go Appendix pages! I decided to add the final Archer battle to the final page, because I felt it was notable enough to be included. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:35, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Appreciate that! Actually I forgot to include it so thanks for catching that. —TylerGray 16:59, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
I see! Glad to have helped! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:10, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

LGPE Walkthrough 17/18

Hi, the LGPE walkthroughs look great! I was thinking that either of the post E4 sections should be a complete guide to the master trainers. It would be nice to have that for the walkthrough pages itself instead of having to redirect the reader to a different page. → PikaTepig999 18:38, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you! It's a work-in-progress, I'm trying out different formatting methods before I go back and add it in. —TylerGray 14:23, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
