After taking over the rights to produce the Pokémon Trading Card Game outside Japan from Wizards of the Coast, a new collection of Black Star Promos began to be distributed by Nintendo of America, with Pokémon USA handling the creation and manufacturing. Nintendo of America would continue the consumer marketing and distribution of the TCG until the end of 2005, with Pokémon USA subsequently assuming all control.
