The Cipher Key Lair (Japanese: シャドーの秘密工場 Shadow Secret Factory) is a location in Pokémon XD.
The Cipher Key Lair is a factory used by Cipher which produces Shadow Pokémon. The machinery in the factory is able to continuously produce Shadow Pokémon at a faster rate than the old method which was used in Pokémon Colosseum. The factory shuts down when Michael uses a System Lever to increase the voltage in the factory so that the machinery malfunctions.
The Cipher Key Lair is a large pyramid-shaped building surrounded by a lake of purple-tinted water. A long concrete path with a large circular concrete platform connects from the entrance of the Lair to the mainland. There are many mysterious machines inside. Conveyor belts transport boxes nonstop. Some electronic doors will only open if a crate is moved to a certain place in the hall. There are also some offices for scientific studies and office management. Gorigan's office is on the top floor. The master control panel where the system lever goes is situated on top of Gorigan's office, and it's the only piece of machinery in the Lair that isn't stored and operated indoors.
The factory is overseen by Gorigan who has his office inside the factory.
