Location Location of Gateon Port in Orre.
|
Gateon Port (Japanese: アイオポート Io Port) is a seaside city in northwestern Orre. It first appeared in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, and it is one of the first areas accessible in Pokémon XD. Gateon is a thriving port city frequented by Mr. Verich, with a tall lighthouse at the entrance to the harbor. Citadark Isle can be reached from here by way of the Robo Kyogre.
Gateon is home to the Krabby Club, a bar featuring performing acts, and the lone Herb Shop in Pokémon XD. Due to the location being a port, the majority of Trainers here are Sailors.
Places of interest
Note: As can be seen in the overworld map, the sea is located to the south of Gateon Port, and all cardinal directions given below are based on this.
Gateon Port has a population of 47 post-game (11 outside, 36 inside buildings). This makes it the most populous city in the Orre region.
The Krabby Club
The Krabby Club is a seaside bar located in southwestern Gateon. The club features a stage where various acts—namely the magicians Razell and Dazell, a Krabby duo, and even Miror B. during the post-game—perform for the crowd.
On its second floor, the club has a VIP room where Mr. Verich is found for much of the game, as well as an NPC who will tell the player the friendship level of their Pokémon. A second room on the same floor contains a parlor where performers prepare to take the stage.
Herb Shop
- Main article: Herb Shop
The lone Herb Shop in Pokémon XD is located on the second floor of the Poké Mart in northwest Gateon. Like other Herb Shops in other regions, it sells inexpensive herbal medicine that will lower the friendship of Pokémon that consume it.
The Munchlax owned by the Herb Shop's owner sometimes visits Poké Spots and eats the Poké Snacks that other Trainers have left to them.
Lighthouse
A large, four-story lighthouse is situated in the harbor south of Gateon City. Trainers looking for battles often gather on the roof of the building. Miror B. will appear on the top floor once the player has snagged 82 of the 83 Shadow Pokémon.
Machine Parts Shop
The Machine Parts Shop is located in northeast Gateon. It is home to Makan and his grandson, Perr. They help Michael twice during the events of Pokémon XD: first by upgrading Michael's scooter after he is unable to reach the S.S. Libra, then by converting the Robo Kyogre into a high-powered watercraft so Michael can reach Citadark Isle.

Trainers
When Michael first visits Gateon Port, Jovi accidentally runs into Zook, who tries to challenge Michael to a battle, but is stopped and defeated by Ardos.
Laken will not battle the player while they are with Jovi, or while Miror B. is in Gateon Port.

Trivia
- In Pokémon XD, Michael is given an Evolution item for his Eevee in Gateon Port. Like the English names of the Eeveelutions, this location's name ends with "eon".
- Given that Orre is based on Arizona and Gateon Port's relation on the map to Phenac City (Phoenix's counterpart), the town may be loosely based on Lake Havasu City. Lake Havasu is the largest body of water in the Phoenix area, and is home to both lighthouses and an unusual bridge that cuts through the town.
- All houses in Gateon Port have a portrait of Pikachu on their walls.
- A brief sample of the town's music is played in one of the stage themes in Pokémon Café ReMix.
