This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo DS iteration, not Pokémon Gold and Silver. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 27 (west)

Route 27

Route 27 connects New Bark Town and Route 26. In addition, it is the first accessible part of the neighboring Kanto region, and a man on the east side of the lake is quick to remind you of this. A ledge in the route's center hinders eastbound travel, forcing Trainers to detour through Tohjo Falls.

Tohjo Falls

Tohjo Falls

As Waterfall cannot be used in the field without the Rising Badge, Tohjo Falls acts not only as a link between the two regions, but also as a barrier to prevent all but the strongest Trainers from reaching Indigo Plateau. Disguised by the western waterfall is a tiny room with nothing of interest but a few breakable rocks and a broken radio. It almost looks like someone was hiding out here...

Route 27 (east)

Outside the cave is a house that belongs to an elderly woman. Speak to her when your lead Pokémon is devoted to you to receive TM37 (Sandstorm). Continue east to the bridge, then surf south to reach a whirlpool; TM02 (Dragon Claw) lies on this tiny shoreline.

Route 26

Route 26

Route 26 is one of the longest routes in Kanto, stretching from the far southwest to the Pokémon League Reception Gate, where it intersects with Route 22, Route 28, and Victory Road.

The Locals

In the northern house, a woman will heal your Pokémon to full health. In the southern house, which belongs to the Week Siblings, there is a note that reveals the residents' locations.

Day Name Location
Sunday Sunny Route 37
Monday Monica Route 40
Tuesday Tuscany Route 29
Wednesday Wesley Lake of Rage
Thursday Arthur Route 36
Friday Frieda Route 32
Saturday Santos Blackthorn City

Pokémon League Reception Gate

Inside the Reception Gate, the first guard checks all passing Trainers for the eight Badges of Johto. Beyond that, two other guards block the exits to Mt. Silver and Route 22. Head through the northern doorway to enter Victory Road.

Victory Road is a rough and rocky place that separates the Reception Gate and Indigo Plateau. The cave earned its name because all Trainers passing through are aiming for victory at the Pokémon League. The cave was once a grueling ordeal, but recent cave-ins have altered the area's layout. Strangely, there are no Trainers to be found.

1F

Go north and move the boulder to clear a path. Walk down the stairway, collect the Potion, and climb the next stairway. Cross the rope bridge, walk down the western stairway, and grab the Full Heal from under the bridge. Continue northward and navigate the maze of rocks to the east to reach a Max Revive. Climb the next stairway, then take the ladder up to 2F.

2F

Head south and climb the first stairway to find a Max Revive hidden on a lone rock. Continue eastward and climb the ladder to 3F.

3F

Collect the hidden Hyper Potion, then jump down the hole in the floor to reach the east side of 2F.

2F

Go north and sidestep around the boulder to find a Full Restore to the west. Climb the ladder back to 3F.

3F

Pass by the hole in the floor and climb up the stairway. Grab the Ultra Ball to the north. Continue westward to reach two more holes in the floor; jump through the northern one to return to 2F.

2F

Collect the HP Up, jump the ledge, and climb the ladder.

3F

Follow the trail and take the first turn to the north. Step around the hole to find a Rare Candy behind the stalagmites, then jump down the hole.

2F

Head west, detour down the stairway to reach TM26 (Earthquake), and climb the ladder to the west.

3F

Go east and jump the ledge. Break the three cracked rocks to reach TM79 (Dark Pulse). After that, prepare your team for battle, as Silver ambushes you near the exit. He reveals the reason why there are no other Trainers here. He claims to have defeated them all, exclaiming, "Man, they were all spineless!".
