=Red volume=
Both volumes are based on VIZ Media's first edition of Pokémon Adventures and retain the flipped, left-to-right reading format of the original publication. The success of the compilation volumes resulted in VIZ Media re-releasing the entire series, including volumes based on games made after the initial run ended (starting with ''Gold'' and ''Silver'' after the second edition of the final Yellow volume was published), from [[Pokémon Adventures volume 1|volume one]] beginning in June 2009. For the new run of the manga, the format was reverted to the original Japanese right-to-left page order.
The [[Red (Special)|Red]] volume is comprised of chapters from the [[Red, Green & Blue chapter (Special)|Red, Green & Blue arc]]. It features the opening five chapters, the three introductory chapters of [[Blue (Special)|Green]], the two chapters where Red aquired {{p|Gyarados}} and the tournament at the end.

The Best of Pokémon Adventures: Red, the first volume in the series

The Best of Pokémon Adventures is the title of two compilations of the Pokémon Adventures manga released by VIZ Media in 2006. The books contain a sample of chapters from the first two story arcs.

Both volumes are based on VIZ Media's first edition of Pokémon Adventures and retain the flipped, left-to-right reading format of the original publication. The success of the compilation volumes resulted in VIZ Media re-releasing the entire series, including volumes based on games made after the initial run ended (starting with Gold and Silver after the second edition of the final Yellow volume was published), from volume one beginning in June 2009.
