April 1, 2019 was an April Fools' Day that fell on a Monday. In the Pokémon fandom, some websites pulled hoaxes on gullible fans.

Hoaxes

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Duel

  • A [UX] Bidoof figure was added which appeared in opponent decks in a special Queen's Cup as part of an "AI-generated rebalancing" due to [C] Bidoof's low win rate.[2][3] Players who participated in the event were given a Bibarel figure the following day.

Aesthetic changes

  • The Bulbagarden forums were changed to display googly eyes on the forum skin and staff badges.
