Lucario debuted in Lost Leader Strategy!, where it was battling with Maylene. Lucario used Aura Sphere to stop the battle of Electabuzz, Piplup and Pikachu. It is also seen battling Paul's Pokémon in a flashback, being easily defeated by Magmar, first by being trapped with a Fire Spin, and then being finished off with a Fire Punch uppercut.
In Crossing the Battle Line!, Lucario battled in Dawn's Gym battle against Maylene. It defeated Dawn's Ambipom and Piplup.
In A Triple Fighting Chance!, Lucario participated in Ash's Gym battle against Maylene. It defeated Ash's Staravia and Chimchar, but was knocked out along with Ash's Buizel, resulting in a tie.
In Enter Galactic!, Lucario helped Ash and the others defeat Saturn and Team Galactic.
Lucario reappeared in a flashback in League Unleashed.
Lucario briefly appeared alongside Maylene during the ending credits of Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
Personality and characteristics
Lucario did not accept the fact that Maylene gave up after her loss to Paul, as seen in Lost Leader Strategy!, when it fired multiple Aura Spheres and Bone Rushes at her during their training, thought this maybe the result of some where deep down believing that she had what it took to still be a great gym leader. While stern, it cares deeply for her and will not tolerate people talking negatively about Maylene, especially shown when it sends Team Rocket flying for saying how pathetic she was.
