Blizzard Island (Japanese: ふぶきのしま Blizzard Island) is the 28th dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky in the Icy Area. It is unlocked after graduating from Wigglytuff's Guild, doing two optional jobs and then talking to Mr. Mime, who can be found near the Kecleon Shop, or outside Spinda's Café in Sky. Upon talking to Mr. Mime, he will talk about a famous explorer called Scizor, who embarked on an expedition to the dungeon long ago and never returned. It has a total of 20 floors. Completing Blizzard Island grants access to a cave on Blizzard Island, Crevice Cave. In the Special Episode, In the Future of Darkness, Grovyle and Dusknoir visit the future version of Blizzard Island, now known as Frozen Island.

Gameplay

The jobs are ranked E, ★2, ★3, ★4, ★5 or ★6 by default, depending on the floor.

Floors 1 through 9 are medium-sized, with rising room amount: 3-6 rooms at floor 1, 3-9 rooms at floors 4 through 9 (with increasing bias towards larger amount of rooms). Floors 10 through 20 are large sized with 3-15 rooms. There's 2-5 items on floors 1 through 3, and 3-6 items on later floors. All floors have 4-7 items in the walls. There's 2-3 starting enemies on floors 1 through 15, and 3-6 on floors 16 through 20.

The IQ Booster activates on every even floor. Turn limit is 1000. Enemies on floor 1 through 14 have 150 IQ, and 331 on later floors. There is light darkness in the dungeon. It's snowing on floor 4 and 8 by default, although certain Pokémon can summon other weather. There is water on floors 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19 and 20. Golduck can negate all weather with its Cloud Nine ability.
