Revision as of 09:07, 31 July 2009

Nintendo, after taking over the Pokémon Trading Card Game from Wizards of the Coast, started a new set of Black Star Promos using the same symbol as those that Wizards made.

  • Because of the high-profile events that some of these cards were available at, the Nintendo Black Star Promos are regarded as more collectible than those produced by Wizards, as they were harder to obtain and therefore much rarer. Some cards were limited to quite small print runs, making them especially sought after.
  • The "PROMO" symbol on these cards is much smaller than the one used on Wizards' Promotional cards.
  • A number of these cards have two or more versions (with a holographic version or a special stamp from specific events). The cards listed here are the regular versions (before any alternatives were released), the other versions are listed in other articles.
  • With the beginning of the DP series of the TCG, Nintendo began a new promo series, the DP Black Star Promos.

The symbol for the numbered Promotional cards is a black star with the word "PROMO" across it.
