Petalburg City
RS
Now that we arrived it is time to head to the Petalburg Gym, so make sure to have a few Rock, Steel, and Fighting ready and at a good level of Level 28 or above since this next Gym which is a Normal Gym is tricky to beat. Make sure to at least have a Machoke or Hariyama with powerful moves like Revenge and Vital Throw because you will need it, since Norman's Slaking are very powerful.
Route 112 (south)
Team Magma/Team Aqua has taken Professor Cozmo's Meteorite to Mt. Chimney, and the only way to follow is by Cable Car. When you arrive, you find that the guards are no longer guarding the station. Enter the building and take the Cable Car up to the summit.

This Gym is set up as follows: Each door leads to a room where the Gym Trainer there will use a battle effect item on the only Pokémon they have and all you have to do is to defeat it to open the doors leading to the next room, though in most rooms it leads to two new rooms and not one. There are nine rooms total in the Gym including the entrance and Gym Leader room. Only three out of the seven Trainer rooms need to be defeated in walking order to reach the Gym Leader room, though it is optional to beat all seven.

Talking to the guy at the entrance or to a Gym Trainer after beating them will tell you where the doors lead to. Just remember when you battle the Gym Leader, your father, do not rely on status conditions due to the move Facade.
Located in the heart of Hoenn, Mt. Chimney is a monstrous volcano that seethes with incredible power. Although their intentions are not yet clear, Team Magma/Team Aqua is determined to use Professor Cozmo's Meteorite here in the next stage of their campaign.

Steer Clear of the Grunts
Normally, visitors to the mountaintop would be able to head south through Jagged Pass to reach Lavaridge Town. But Team Magma and Team Aqua are locked in battle all over the summit, including the entrance to the mountain pass. Let their Pokémon fight it out while you climb up north to the crater.
West of the stairway, you find Aqua Leader Archie/Magma Leader Maxie in a skirmish against a group of opposing Grunts. You're only here for Cozmo's Meteorite, though, so slip past the battle and work your way to the northwest.
Spotted!
There is a single Grunt ahead standing guard, and you are quickly drawn into battle. But you're more than a match for one lowly Grunt, so finish him off quickly and continue northward.
Challenge Accepted!
Make your way farther north and you'll be stopped by Tabitha/Matt, who isn't about to let you pass by so easily!

Once you defeat your father, Norman will give you the Balance which will allow you to use Surf outside of battle and also gives your team a slight boost in Defense. He will also give you 42.

Norman after giving his thanks will mention that Wally's parents came by earlier looking for you to give you a gift. Wally's house is the upper-left building that is located next to the Gym. Talk to Wally's father and he thanks you for your involvement in aiding Wally and making him happy and he will give you 03. Now that you have five Badges you can now rechallenge the Trainers listed in the Trainer's Eyes in the PokéNav. Before we head out to our next Gym Match lets look at some new accessible places now that you can use Surf.
Battle with the Boss
Tabitha/Matt is defeated, but the real threat still lurks ahead. Turn east toward the crater to find the leader of Team Magma/Team Aqua standing near some sort of high-tech device fitted with the stolen Meteorite. After revealing a bit more about his organization's plans, he draws you into battle!

Now that you can use Surf you can head to the North side to find more Pokémon and Trainers, as well as a Berry grove. This area is also a good place to help train any Pokémon of the Rock, Steel or Electric type you have for your next Gym Match which is a Flying Gym. This area is also the only known spot to find a wild Swellow and Jigglypuff and it also has 01.

Now that you have Surf Mr. Briney will no longer transport you between his house on 104 to Dewford Town, or 109, instead you'll have to transport yourself using Surf. Anyway on 108 is the abandoned ship. Go through the cabins on the ship and challenge Trainers your target is the second floor where a man is who will tell you that he was sent by Captain Stern to find a List of key items in Generation III, but for the moment you can't help him but you can find a List of key items in Generation III. Return with it to B1F and use it unlock the room on the far right to find a room that has 13.

Also we can now challenge the Trainers on 105, 106, 107 as well as Route 108 and a new section of Route 109. Since these are Water Trainers it would be a good idea to train any Electric types you may have or you can put this off until you catch some in New Mauville.

Route 107
With his defeat, Maxie/Archie grudgingly gives up his plans for Mt. Chimney, but reassures you that his team will still prevail. He flees along with his subordinates, a moment before Archie/Maxie appears. He thanks you for your help, and pledges to continue fighting against the villainous team's destructive plans. Once he leaves, inspect the machine to retrieve the Meteorite for Professor Cozmo.

Jagged Pass was formed as the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. When the lava cooled, it proved to be suitable for an alternate route to the summit. Though not necessary for southward travel, the Acro Bike is needed to scale the rough terrain when traveling northward.

Jump the first two ledges and go west. Inspect the patch of ash-covered grass to find a hidden Full Heal. Take the stairway southward and jump the next three ledges, stopping just short of Camper Ethan. Turn east and take the stairway to reach a Burn Heal lying near a tree. Jump the ledge to the south, then head all the way to the west and jump another ledge. Check the corner here for a hidden Great Ball, then continue south past Picnicker Diana to reach the exit. This leads to the southwest part of 112, just outside Lavaridge Town.

The entrance to New Mauville is located on the North end of Route 110, near Mauville City and from the part where you would enter to get on the Bike area use Surf to go to a cave to the east to reach New Mauville. Before going head back to Mauville and you will see Wattson in the middle of road in the center of the city. He asks you to go New Mauville and shut off the generator to prevent it from going haywire. He'll give you the List of key items in Generation III. Use to open the metal door to enter once at the entrance to reach the basement.
Nestled at the foot of Mt. Chimney, Lavaridge Town is a welcome sight for travelers and tourists alike. It is well-known throughout Hoenn for its soothing hot springs, said to cure any ailment, and also features a specialty shop that sells bitter but beneficial herbs for Pokémon. The Lavaridge Gym, fourth in the Hoenn League, stands in the southwest part of town.

Once inside the cave the key will open the metal door allowing entrance. This place is filled with Electric-type Pokémon such as Voltorb, and Magnemite which you can catch that can help you in the upcoming match in the Fortree Gym since their evolved forms Electrode and Magneton will help as well as training a Geodude or Graveler for the Gym match as well.

Anyway you should arrive at the south area from the entrance all you have to do is follow the path west and north while flipping switches to change the door settings where by using skill you will be able to get through them and head on through. Be careful because there is also a Lv. 25 Voltorb this is posing as Items and will attack when you try to collect the item. The Generator is located in the Northeastern part of the facility along with a Evolutionary stone which will allow you to evolve Pikachu into Raichu if you catch in the Safari Zone. Once your turn the Generator off, head south and east to make it easier to head back to the entrance and leave.

Head back to Mauville and talk to Wattson and he will give you 24 as a reward for completing the task which is useful to teach to a Pokémon for the upcoming Gym Match such as Manectric. Now head east to 118, it is time to head to the next Gym.
Pokémon Center and Hot Springs
The building's back door leads to the steamy hot springs. Take a dip if you wish, and use the Itemfinder to locate an Ice Heal hidden in the waters. Afterward, use the PC to organize your party so that you are carrying no more than five Pokémon. Step outside and talk to the old woman near the sand baths, and she offers you a Pokémon Egg to take with you on your travels!

Route 118
Herb Shop
At the Herb Shop, a woman sells herbal medicines for Pokémon. These natural remedies are just as effective as their traditional counterparts and less expensive, but their bitter taste make them difficult for Pokémon to take, leaving them less friendly toward you. As Max Revives cannot be purchased anywhere, it may be useful to buy a few Revival Herbs to have in case of an emergency.

RS
RS
RS
RS

Like the name suggests, the Lavaridge Gym specializes in Fire Pokémon. Grass-, Bug-, Ice-, and Steel Pokémon are most vulnerable to their scorching attacks, while Water, Ground, and Rock moves will give you the upper hand. Wingull and Pelipper are great Pokémon to bring to this Gym; not only are they Water types, but as Flying types they also have an advantage against Battle Girl Sadie's Meditite. The humid Gym features two floors; stepping on a pool of water will cause you to fall to the basement, and doing the same there will send you back to the first floor atop a geyser.

There are two puddles in the first room. Approach the one to the right to battle Kindler Cole, then step on the other to fall to the basement. Step on the other puddle there to ride the geyser to the southwest part of 1F. Cooltrainer Zane hides in the northeast pool, while you can advance by stepping on the northwest puddle. This part of B1F has only one geyser leading back upstairs. In 1F's western room, Kindler Axle can be found in the puddle to the east while you can proceed by stepping on the puddle to the left. Once again, the only option in this area is to take the geyser back to 1F. In the northwest room, approach the northwest pool to fight Battle Girl Sadie before falling through the northeast pool. Ride the geyser back upstairs, to the northeast room. Here, the northwest puddle hides the last Gym Trainer, Kindler Andy, while the southwest pool hides the path forward. Go south and ride the final geyser up to the Gym Leader's room.

Flannery has only recently begun serving as Gym Leader, and is intent on proving her worth. Given the chance, her Pokémon can unleash powerful moves that can reduce a challenger's party to cinders. Sunny Day gives a 50% power boost to all Fire attacks, which makes her Pokémon's strongest move, Overheat, even more devastating. Its only drawback is that it harshly lowers the user's Special Attack after each use, but once is usually enough! In addition, the harsh sunlight temporarily cuts the power of Water attacks in half.

Once there use Surf to get to the other side and immediately talk to the fisherman you see to receive the Fishing. As you travel abit up the road you will meet up with Steven Stone who asks what kind of Pokémon you like before he leaves. Before heading north to 119, let's head east to 123 for a quick stop.

Though we can't do much here until after we reach [[Mt. But anyway other than this or battling two new Trainers when your ready head back to Route 118 and head north to Route 119.

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
These pages follow the original Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 112 (south)

Team MagmaR/Team AquaS has taken Professor Cozmo's Meteorite to Mt. Chimney, and the only way to follow is by Cable Car. When you arrive, you find that the guards are no longer guarding the station. Enter the building and take the Cable Car up to the summit.

Mt. Chimney

Mt. Chimney

Located in the heart of Hoenn, Mt. Chimney is a monstrous volcano that seethes with incredible power. Although their intentions are not yet clear, Team MagmaR/Team AquaS is determined to use Professor Cozmo's Meteorite here in the next stage of their campaign.

West of the stairway, you find Aqua Leader ArchieR/Magma Leader MaxieS in a skirmish against a group of opposing Grunts.

Make your way farther north and you'll be stopped by TabithaR/MattS, who isn't about to let you pass by so easily!

VS Tabitha

VS Matt

Battle with the Boss

TabithaR/MattS is defeated, but the real threat still lurks ahead. Turn east toward the crater to find the leader of Team MagmaR/Team AquaS standing near some sort of high-tech device fitted with the stolen Meteorite. After revealing a bit more about his organization's plans, he draws you into battle!

VS Maxie

VS Archie

With his defeat, MaxieR/ArchieS grudgingly gives up his plans for Mt. Chimney, but reassures you that his team will still prevail. He flees along with his subordinates, a moment before ArchieR/MaxieS appears. He thanks you for your help, and pledges to continue fighting against the villainous team's destructive plans. Once he leaves, inspect the machine to retrieve the Meteorite for Professor Cozmo.

Jagged Pass

Jagged Pass

Jagged Pass was formed as the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. When the lava cooled, it proved to be suitable for an alternate route to the summit. Though not necessary for southward travel, the Acro Bike is needed to scale the rough terrain when traveling northward.

It's All Downhill

Jump the first two ledges and go west. Inspect the patch of ash-covered grass to find a hidden Full Heal. Take the stairway southward and jump the next three ledges, stopping just short of Camper Ethan. Turn east and take the stairway to reach a Burn Heal lying near a tree. Jump the ledge to the south, then head all the way to the west and jump another ledge. Check the corner here for a hidden Great Ball, then continue south past Picnicker Diana to reach the exit. This leads to the southwest part of Route 112, just outside Lavaridge Town.

Lavaridge Town

Lavaridge Town

Nestled at the foot of Mt. Chimney, Lavaridge Town is a welcome sight for travelers and tourists alike. It is well-known throughout Hoenn for its soothing hot springs, said to cure any ailment, and also features a specialty shop that sells bitter but beneficial herbs for Pokémon. The Lavaridge Gym, fourth in the Hoenn League, stands in the southwest part of town.

Be sure to talk to the old man near the counter, as well. Doing so gets you a Charcoal, which boosts the power of Fire-type moves by 10% when held.

Lavaridge Town Pokémon Gym
Leader: Flannery

One with a fiery passion that burns!

Like the name suggests, the Lavaridge Gym specializes in Fire-type Pokémon. Grass-, Bug-, Ice-, and Steel-type Pokémon are most vulnerable to their scorching attacks, while Water, Ground, and Rock moves will give you the upper hand.

Lavaridge Gym
The Heat Badge

After the battle, Flannery awards you the Heat Badge, which ensures obedience of all Pokémon up to level 50 and enables the use of Strength in the field. She also hands out TM50 (Overheat) as a prize. Fall through the other pool and head south to take the geyser to the entrance room. Outside, May/Brendan is impressed that you defeated the Lavaridge Gym. Since you are obviously capable, she/he hands you the Go-Goggles, which allow you to explore the desert of Route 111 in spite of the raging sandstorm. Your friend then heads off to challenge Norman at the Petalburg Gym.
