Parabolic Charge (Japanese: パラボラチャージ Parabola Charge) is a damage-dealing Electric-type move introduced in Generation VI.

Effect

Generation VI

Parabolic Charge does damage with a base power of 50 and restores the user's HP equal to half of the damage dealt.

If the user is holding a Big Root, the HP restored is increased by 30% (making the restored HP 65% of the damage dealt). Big Root does not increase the damage dealt.

If the target has the Ability Liquid Ooze, the user will lose the amount of HP it would have gained instead.

Parabolic Charge cannot be used if the user is under the effects of Heal Block.

Parabolic Charge can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if the move Charge was used in the prior turn. It can also be used to start a combination, causing Electrify to give extra three appeal points if used in the next turn.

Generation VII onwards

Parabolic Charge had its power increased from 50 to 65.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Parabolic Charge cannot be selected in a battle.
