Route 116 is an east-west route in western Hoenn.

Route 116 (Japanese: 116番道路 Route 116) is a route in western Hoenn, connecting Rustboro City and Rusturf Tunnel.

Route description
Route description
Route 116 is host to several trainers, and most notably, the headquarters of the drilling team in charge of Rusturf Tunnel. There are three large patches of grass on the route, containing wild Pokémon at low levels. Most of the trainers are either hikers or youngsters, having various low-level Pokémon with them on the first passthrough. This route is also the first area where trainers will encounter wild Whismur and the only place to find wild Skitty and Nincada. It is also one of the three places trainers will be able to find wild Taillow, the beginner's Flying-type native to Hoenn.
There are three large patches of grass on the route, containing wild Pokémon at low levels. This route is the only place in the Generation III core series games where wild Skitty and Nincada are encountered. It is also the first area where Trainers will encounter wild Whismur.

To the east of this route, near the entrance of Rusturf Tunnel, is the Tunnelers' Rest House, which is not accessible until the player rescues Mr. Briney's Wingull, Peeko, from a Team Magma or Team Aqua Grunt. Inside are workers who were previously working on the construction of Rusturf Tunnel but stopped due to the harm it brought to the wild Pokémon in it.

A sizable portion of the route requires Cut to access. On the east side of the route, east of the entrance to Rusturf Tunnel, is a location where a Secret Base can be made.

Route 116 (Japanese: 116番道路 Route 116) is a route in western Hoenn, connecting Rustboro City and Rusturf Tunnel.

Route description

There are three large patches of grass on the route, containing wild Pokémon at low levels. This route is the only place in the Generation III core series games where wild Skitty and Nincada are encountered. It is also the first area where Trainers will encounter wild Whismur.

To the east of this route, near the entrance of Rusturf Tunnel, is the Tunnelers' Rest House, which is not accessible until the player rescues Mr. Briney's Wingull, Peeko, from a Team MagmaROR or Team AquaSEAS Grunt.
