Trivia
- Will-O-Wisp is the only status move capable of inflicting a burn.
- Ralts can learn Will-O-Wisp by breeding, but not by TM.
- In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the animation shows the flames being purple, although the description says they are bluish white.
- Vulpix is the only non Template:Type2 to learn Will-O-Wisp by level up.
- Even though Will-O-Wisp is a Status move, it's always shown as an offensive move in the anime never causing any burns at all, in one instance being shown to equal Flamethrower in terms of power.
