The Protein (Japanese: タウリン Taurine) is a type of vitamin introduced in Generation I. It increases the Attack of a Pokémon.

In Pokémon Crystal, Protein costs $7800 during the Goldenrod Department Store rooftop sale. In Hoenn, Protein costs $4900 during the Energy Guru sale.
Effect
Generation I to II
When used from the Bag on a Pokémon, adds 2560 Attack Stat Experience to the target Pokémon per use, until it has 25600 Attack Stat Experience. In Generation II, it also increases the Pokémon's friendship a little.
Generation III onward
