Trivia
- After defeating Guzma, the bridge at the front of the garden is populated by five Trainers and their leader, mimicking the Nugget Bridge from Kanto in both dialogue and team structure, despite many of the Trainers' Pokémon not being native to Alola. The teams the player battles against use the exact same Pokémon as the Trainers in Pokémon Red and Blue, rather than their remakes.
- According to the girl who gives an Air Balloon, the lake inside Malie Garden is designed after a Gyarados.
