Magic Powder (Japanese: まほうのこな Magic Powder) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature move of Hatterene.
Effect
This move effect may be in need of research. Reason: Will the animation still play if used on a pure Psychic-type? Does it fail on a substitute? You can discuss this on the talk page. |
Magic Powder changes the target's type to pure Psychic. The effect lasts as long as the target remains in battle; however, changing form or transforming overrides the effect.
Magic Powder fails if the target is already a pure Psychic type or if its Ability is RKS System.
Being a powder move, it will fail on Grass-type Pokémon and Pokémon with the Ability Overcoat or held Safety Goggles.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Magic Powder cannot be selected in a battle.
