Location Hoenn Route 0 Location of {{{name}}} in Hoenn. |
Route 104 is a north-south route located in west Hoenn. Its northern terminus is at the limits of Rustboro City. The southern extent of the route is actually located at Route 105, a water route, but the southern terminus of the main path is at the western edge of Petalburg City.
The route is divided into two halves by Petalburg Woods, the Hoenn equivalent of Kanto's Viridian Forest and Johto's Ilex Forest.
Route description
Traveling south from Rustboro, the beaten path of the route swerves to the east for a short distance before turning south toward a bridge traversing a pond. On the north side of the pond, there is a patch of loamy soil that initially contains Cheri Berry and Leppa Berry trees and can hold up to three trees. Near the patch, an old woman gives out a Chesto Berry and reminds trainers of the regenerating ability of Berries. Also, to the west of the patch, the first trainer on Route 104, a Fisherman, is standing by the shore of the pond.
On the bridge, which runs south for half the length of the pond, turns east, then returns south as it makes landfall, the first set of double battle trainers that one encounters in Hoenn, Twins Gina and Mia, await to challenge any trainers that cross their path.
Directly northeast of the bridge is the Pretty Petal Flower Shop. In this shop, there are plants available for purchase. These plants are used to be decorate your secret base.
Immediately south of the bridge near where the south turns west is Lass Haley. To her east is a Cut-able tree that blocks the way to a Dire Hit (Ruby and Sapphire) or an X Accuracy (Emerald). West of Haley is the fifth trainer on Route 104, Lady Cindy (R/S) or Rich Boy Winston (E). Continuing west, the path splits into two. To the south is Petalburg Woods. To the northwest is the Pretty Petal Flower Shop, another loamy patch containing Oran and Cheri Berries, as well as a man who gives out TM09, Bullet Seed, to trainers. Farther north, past the flower shop, there is a sporadic patch of grass with wild Pokémon that has a Potion located in its center.
South of Petalburg Woods, Route 104 is split into two halves by a pair of exits from the forest. The west exit, which is the main entrance and exit, emerges just ahead of either Rich Boy Winston (R/S) or Lady Cindy (E). The path, shrouded by grass at this point, turns east for a lengthy distance before returning south at a loamy patch containing Oran and Pecha Berries. Meanwhile, the eastern half, separated from the west by a ledge and containing a Poké Ball, comes into contact with the west at this point.
The western half continues south from the loamy soil, passing the house of Mr. Briney as it splits into two paths once again. The southern path travels through a large patch of grass before turning southeast and, eventually, to the east as it enters Petalburg. The western path at this junction turns south at Mr. Briney's home onto a beach. Here, there are no less than four trainers waiting to battle. This also serves as the northern terminus of Route 105. As a whole, the beach travels south to southeast, reuniting with the main path just west of Petalburg.

Trainer Tips
- In the Hoenn region there are pairs of Trainers who chalenge others for 2-on-2 Pokémon battles called Double Battles. In a Double Battle, the Trainer must send out two Pokémon, the one at the left of the list and the top one. Watch how Pokémon are lined up.
