Excuse me SnorlaxMonster, I just wanted to ask you about the Bulbawiki Forum. If I wanted to ask a question or post a comment on the forum ( such as ask about the game code thing related to [[Aegis Cave]] ), which requires me to sign in, do I sign in with the account that I already have on Bulbapedia? Or do I have to make another account on Bulbwiki? [[User:Twisted Ivy|Twisted Ivy]] 10:10, 18 January 2011 (UTC) |

Help
I am quite a new user, but i have made many contributions to the mainspace, including info and trivia on the Orange Archipeleago and alot of Pokémon, but i'm still unable to edit my user page. I was read that i had to contact a member of staff, so here I am. please help when you have time. --Dark Lord 07:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- There's a minimum time since registering as well, which is almost certainly the reason you can't edit it. Give it a few days to a week and you should be able to. Keep up the good work. Werdnae (talk) 08:24, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Song Question
I was reading the Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea article, and it doesn't show any link to the English credits song. Is there an article about the exact song and what is it called? Pokedex493 19:14, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

- Please, in future, do not ask me general questions about the anime, as I rarely know the answer (and I didn't know the answer to this one either). For the anime, you are much better off asking Kenji-girl, who is leader of Project Anime. However, even better, please use the talk page of the article in question, or the BulbaWiki forum. --SnorlaxMonster 05:59, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Help with contributions
Hi SnorlaxMonster, do you have any good ideas for me to improve those articles I done for the CID, meaning Team Charm and the Pokémon Musical. I know it's over, but I'd still like to improve them. And, while we're on that matter, am I allowed to make a page on Digimon? I want to show it's rivalry with Pokémon and bring our fans up to date with our competition. It would've been a good entry for the comp, but then, it's over - and anyway, I'm supposed to have improved articles for it, not made another one. Oh well...- Twisted Ivy 06:05, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Team Charm I've removed stub and defined why it was incomplete (it was missing a few levels). Pokémon Musical seems very short to me, and has very few images. I don't think Digimon is a good idea, but you can create a page in your userspace and see how it goes. If the page is deemed notable, it can be made, but I personally don't think that it is necessary. --SnorlaxMonster 06:25, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up! The levels were done by someone else - I think that bit was one were you couldn't see their levels during game play. By the way, were you the one that deleted my trivia bit? Twisted Ivy 06:37, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Someone is going to have to look into the games' code to find those then. And is this the trivia that you were talking about? - unsigned comment from SnorlaxMonster (talk • contribs)
- Yeah, that's the one. I'll inquire with some of the users that have already finished a game in that particular series - they're bound to know. Do you know any? Twisted Ivy 07:34, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- I do have Explorers of Sky, but I'm currently awaiting rescue, so there isn't much I can do. However, I'm pretty sure that in that situation, their levels aren't easy to see, so it would require someone to actually read the game's code. --SnorlaxMonster 07:45, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- How do you do that? I'm befuddled as to whom to ask, but if you know, I'd be more than obliged to ask them.Twisted Ivy 08:30, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Look in the games code? I personally don't know how, but it is how we get most of our game data. I would suggest posting on the Bulbawiki forum and asking for help (in the Official BULBAPEDIA suggestion/idea/problem thread) as I don't know who actually does this. --SnorlaxMonster 10:11, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Why
do you keep picking TCG illustrators. When I was TCG leader, my rule of thumb was that you do it well, or you don't do it at all, and having them on the main page allows people to make them poorly. So, let me reiterate, why the TCG illustrators? MaverickNate 18:59, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- I figured that TCG illustrators weren't all templates like the individual cards or sets (which I had been purposely avoiding), so they could be made easily. There were several other things that I was trying to avoid, and most of the other things with many links were either Sega games (which there was already one of on there), TCG/Battrio sets (which I didn't think should be there), and manga issues (which there was already one of on there). I will not put any TCG illustrators on in future, and I'll replace the current illustrator with Gengar's Shadow. --SnorlaxMonster 01:24, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Demographics for Castelia City
A few days ago, I created a demographics section for Castelia City. Then just today, I checked it, and it was gone and I noticed you happened to delete it. Is there a reason why we don't need it..? - unsigned comment from Han Ji-Wan (talk • contribs)
- The only thing that I deleted was "as of Generation V", which is something that has been popping up everywhere, but really isn't necessary. It is assumed that everything is "as of Generation V", and is not necessary to be there. --SnorlaxMonster 01:24, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Wow, totally sorry about that. I saw "delete" or something like that, so I assumed that you deleted it without me thinking. Okay, from now on, I will not use that phrase "as of Generation V". Thanks for the advice! :] - unsigned comment from Han Ji-Wan (talk • contribs)
How am I doing so far?
Hello! I noticed you've been adding stuff and correcting the Demographics section I've been working on. I thank you for that. I really appreciate it. Is there something I should do or should not do? Should I keep doing what I've been doing? Thank you! :]--Han Ji-Wan 03:50, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- I was going to get around to telling you, but then I just never did. You should use link templates (I think the only one you need to use for what you are doing is
{{game}}
). Basically, when you link the main series game titles, you put {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}} and it will output Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver (same display, but correct link). Also, it is better not to refer to them as "the HeartGold and SoulSilver games", rather, just "HeartGold and SoulSilver" or "Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver". I have probably changed a few other things too, so please see the page history to see exactly what I changed. --SnorlaxMonster 03:59, 10 January 2011 (UTC)- Okay thank you! I appreciate your help. I will start doing what you've told me to do. Sorry for the inconvenience. If there's anything else that I need to work on, just let me know!--Han Ji-Wan 04:12, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, and when you have sections, you should leave a line between them, unless they are subsections. So your code should look like this:
- Okay thank you! I appreciate your help. I will start doing what you've told me to do. Sorry for the inconvenience. If there's anything else that I need to work on, just let me know!--Han Ji-Wan 04:12, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Including player and rival in population count
- Okay, so I noticed you changed Twinleaf and Littleroot Towns' population back (there's also New Bark Town, Pallet Town, and Kanoko Town). Really, it shouldn't be 8, should be 10 (for each one). Even though the players and rivals are exploring and not sitting around their town, they're still citizens of their respective towns. Could we please turn them back to their real population?
- --Han Ji-Wan 04:03, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- They don't inhabit those towns anymore. Sure they are their home towns, but they shouldn't be included in the counts. There are several other traveling Trainers who would say what their hometown is, but are not included in these counts. --SnorlaxMonster 04:06, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Why shouldn't they be included in the counts? They're still citizens. So, according to your logic, (this is just an example), I live in San Diego, but I work and do most of my free time in Los Angeles. I'm still a resident of San Diego, even though I spend the majority of my life outside of my town. Really, the players and rivals have to count in the starting towns. They can't be counted out just because they're on their journey.
- --Han Ji-Wan 04:13, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Once they set out on a journey, they pretty much move out. Ash is from Pallet Town, but if they did a population count they wouldn't include him. You still often return home to San Diego (otherwise you wouldn't say that you live there), whereas the game Trainers don't need to return home at all unless they beat the league. --SnorlaxMonster 11:20, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me. What I see, is that you're using your opinion. And Bulbapedia require editors to only put down facts. Opinions are not facts. The players and rivals ARE from their towns. They're residence of their hometowns. I checked this at census.gov (the official site for the US Census Bureau, I believe), and it says:
- "1.PEOPLE AWAY ON VACATION OR BUSINESS People temporarily away on vacation or a business trip on Census Day - Counted at their usual residence, that is, the place where they live and sleep most of the time."
- I don't see what's the big deal. What I see, is that you're using your opinions as facts. I'm really sorry we're having this stupid argument, but I will defend my side.
- --Han Ji-Wan 16:13, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thing is, player characters who leave home rarely (if at all) live or sleep in their hometown and are not temporarily away on vacation—it is a permanent thing. It is just as much of an opinion to say that they still live there as it is to say that they have moved out. --SnorlaxMonster 01:02, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- You know what? You're not being fair. I feel like you're manipulating your power by using your opinion. Sure, it is my opinion. I guess I will have to contact a higher authority. Really sorry, but something needs to be said.
- --Han Ji-Wan 01:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

I apologize if you feel that way. The way I saw it, I changed something, you didn't like it, so we are having a friendly discussion on a talk page. I would prefer if it were in a more public place so that more people could discuss it too (like on the forums, or perhaps a talk page of one of the hometown articles). I would like to note that what I have written here since you complained about the hometown populations is not an instruction; rather, I am attempting to form a consensus with you. I do not believe that I have once used my power in this disagreement, but if you feel that I have and abused it, then feel free to report me to another admin. --SnorlaxMonster 01:21, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, so I apologize for being stubborn. I admit that. So, I will create a thread on the forums. It'll be easier and we can see what others think. I realize I'm actually the one manipulating you. I'm really sorry. You were just doing your job, and I didn't like what you did. And that built up. And now I'm accusing you of manipulating your power. I am sorry. :[
- ps. I hope we're still on friendly terms. I appreciate you helping me fix my mistakes.
- --Han Ji-Wan 01:35, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, we're still on friendly terms. We just had a difference of opinion, and I never saw you as someone I didn't get along with. For the record, I didn't feel manipulated. And you didn't need to hide my identity on the forums; it's on my talk page, which is public and visible to many. --SnorlaxMonster 02:04, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's good to hear. I'm just laughing at the whole thing, really. I wasn't sure because I know someone doesn't like being "thrown under the bus". But idk if it still applies when on the forums. But whatever, I just did it just to be sure. Also, is there another way to contact each other that's not public and doesn't take up space on your UserTalk? --Han Ji-Wan 02:09, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- You can use Special:EmailUser/SnorlaxMonster if you want to talk to me in private. If you have your email confirmed, I can use that too (but clearly SnorlaxMonster changes to Han Ji-Wan). --SnorlaxMonster 02:14, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

I was going through the entire list of webcomics and I only found two, which was Pokémon-X and Super Effective. Should there be any others that you know of? - unsigned comment from Pokedex493 (talk • contribs)
- I really wouldn't know. I don't really read webcomics (but I have read Super Effective). These kind of open questions are generally better to be discussed on the Bulbawiki forum rather than on individual staff member's talk pages. --SnorlaxMonster 11:24, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Fly
Hi SnorlaxMonster, serebii.net has a couple of pics, alternatively, the episode can be found on youtube, where someone has filmed their TV, it was the only one I could find, Staryu and Starmie are at about 1.30. I'm not sure if it's ok to post a link, but it can always be deleted after. XVuvuzela2010X 12:49, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just so you know, it wasn't that I didn't believe them, but that I was interested. However, after watching that video, I'm not sure how safe it is to call it Fly. The just levitate and are unaffected by the extra weight it seems. I am not going to fight you adding it to the page, but I'm also not sure how accurate it is to call levitating Fly. --SnorlaxMonster 12:55, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Names/In other languages
Personally, I think that it's way more practical, good-looking, professional and neat to merge all the names in one table, changing the heading from In other languages to Names. Not to mention that it also is the standard for characters and locations (see Falkner or Rustboro City) and I don't really understand why "This section should not contain English and Japanese names". But, hey, if you really want it that way... --Siegfried 05:43, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- Project Pokédex has it that way. If you want to change it, you should probably bring it up over there first. I guess with the new table, it could be possible, but the section title should match the convention (I know it wasn't you that was changing that to "in other languages"). The main reason it is separate is because the "name origin" is a subsection of origin. The origin of its name is quite important. Putting it in that table, which is really meant to be a list of names in other languages, is just overloading the whole thing. --SnorlaxMonster 05:54, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- I understand. About the overloading of a possible unified nomenclature table, I don't think that it would be a problem. Here are two example of "long" etymologies:
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Altaria_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29&oldid=1316546#Names & http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Claydol_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29&oldid=1316529#Names
They don't seem particularly messy to me. And a limited space would also (in a perfect world) prevent bizzarre origins that sometimes pop up. --Siegfried 06:25, 17 January 2011 (UTC)- If the table became the "name origin" section, it could work out quite nicely. However, this is not something I can decide to implement, nor can you (which was my main problem with you just adding it). This discussion should be taken to Project Pokédex (which I see you have now done) to see just how it should be handled. And "in other languages" does not mix with Japanese/English, which seems to be what someone is changing. --SnorlaxMonster 10:04, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Batlle Pyramid
On the trivia secion on the Battle Frontier, I mentioned how the anime version of the Battle Pyramid had close similatities to the alien spaceship used by Ra in the 1994 science-fiction movie Stargate. Why did you delete it? Emporer15 15:32, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- Comparing this to this, they seem to be similar because they are Pyramid ships that are made of metal. We do generally avoid comparisons to other franchises unless they are very clear. In this situation, their similarity seems to be just a slight coincidence. --SnorlaxMonster 04:19, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
HALP!!
Yeah. I need help. Someone on the forums recommended I have two of the same usernames for both the forums and here. I tried changing my username to Gummy Spider. That didn't work. All it did was change my signature, with no link provided. Then just now, I changed it back to Han Ji-Wan because someone just informed me that it's against the Bulbapedia policy to not have your signature link to your username. And even though I changed it back to my old username, it still doesn't link to my username. I'm really lost. Could you please shed some light for me!? Pretty please!? :D--Han Ji-Wan 07:28, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I saw that. That person was TTE, who is the former editor-in-chief of Bulbapedia. Neither you nor I have the power to rename you, only those on the Editorial Board can, and I don't think they will at the moment due to a problem with the load balancer (whenever there is a serverside problem, it's usually its fault). What you need to do is use the name Han Ji-Wan until you are renamed. Now, to link to your userpage, you should tick the box in the signature section of Special:Preferences. You can also manually code your signature (which requires you to untick the box), which allows further customization, like mine and many other users'. --SnorlaxMonster 07:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
