Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl is the tenth season of the anime and the first season of the English dub of the Diamond & Pearl series. It follows Ash Ketchum as he begins his journey in the Sinnoh region along with Brock, and new girl Dawn. Ash continues to collect badges, while Dawn competes in contests. It began with Following A Maiden's Voyage!, which originally aired on April 20, 2007 in the United States, and ended with Smells Like Team Spirit! which originally aired on February 1, 2008. The season skips DP048 due to that episode being a clip show.

It is preceded by Pokémon: Battle Frontier, the last season of the Advanced Generation series dub, and is succeeded by Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension.

Ash and his friends

• Dawn is introduced as a new beginning trainer. (DP001)
• Ash, Pikachu, and Aipom arrive in Sinnoh. (DP001)
• Brock rejoins Ash shortly thereafter. (DP002)
• Ash meets a new rival - Paul, his complete opposite in every way. (DP003)
• Dawn has her first Pokémon battle with Nando, who would reappear later in the series. After a battle with Ash, Nando decides to collect both badges and ribbons.(DP004)
• Dawn acquires a Pokétch in Jubilife City. (DP010)
• Dawn meets Zoey, a rival coordinator. (DP011)
• Ash and friends encounter Pokémon Hunter J, who steals Pokémon on the request of clients. (DP020)
• At the Floaroma Pokémon Contest, Dawn runs into Kenny, a childhood friend who is also journeying as a coordinator. (DP026)
• Ash and friends aid Cheryl in the Eterna Forest in her search for the Sweet Honey. (DP030, DP031, DP032)
  • During the search, Ash and his friends run into Gardenia, an avid lover of Grass-Type Pokémon. (DP031)
• Dawn battles Elite Four member Lucian. (DP035)
• Ash and friends prevent the theft of the Adamant Orb, which was, unbeknownst to them, orchestrated by Team Galactic. (DP036)
• Paul tries his luck against Sinnoh Champion Cynthia with Ash and company watching. (DP040)
• Ash helps Gary protect Shieldon from Pokémon Hunter J. (DP045)
• Ash and his friends meet Mira and help her rescue her Sandshrew's Poké Ball from a flooded town. (DP047)
• Dawn, Zoey, and Nando compete in the Hearthome Pokémon Contest. Dawn fails to make it through the appeal round, while Nando defeats Zoey to win his second ribbon. (DP049)
• After the Hearthome Contest, Ash, Brock, Dawn, and Paul participate in the Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition. (DP050 - DP052)
  • Ash and Paul are paired together. Dawn is paired up with Conway, and Brock is paired with Holly. (DP050)
  • Ash and his friends, along with their partners make it through the first round.
  • Ash and his friends, along with their partners make it through the second round. (DP051)
  • Paul abandons his Chimchar after the second round.
  • Ash lets Chimchar join his team. (DP052)
  • Ash and Paul defeat Brock and Holly in the semi-finals, and then Dawn and Conway in the finals to win the tournament.
