Leavanny (Japanese: ハハコモリ Hahakomori) is a dual-type Bug/Grass Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Swadloon when leveled up with high happiness. It is the final form of Sewaddle.
Biology
Physiology
Leavanny is a thin, yellow, humanoid Pokémon. It has a broad, split leaf around its head, similar to Sewaddle's, and has long antennae which end in semi-circles. Its chest and legs are dark green and sectioned, making them appear armored. Their hands are leaf-like, with a "bite" taken out of each. Its arms are the "veins" to the leaves and are very sharp. Leavanny uses its sharp arms and adhesive threads to create clothing for other Pokémon. Its large abdomen is covered by its leafy tail, making it appear as if it was wearing a dress or coat.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Leavanny has cutters on its arms and can spit out sticky silk. It uses these abilities to create clothing made of leaves for small Pokémon, primarily Sewaddle, whose first pair of clothes is made by a Leavanny before it hatches.
Behavior
Leavanny are very parental. When it spots a small Pokémon, it will make clothes for it. It also warms its eggs with fermenting fallen leaves and makes swaddling blankets out of leaves for Sewaddle. It makes clothes for unhatched Sewaddle to wear after they hatch.
Habitat
Leavanny lives in forests.

Trivia
Origin
Leavanny appears to be based on both a bipedal Phylliidae and, like its prevolutions, is also based on the Epargyreus clarus caterpillar. Its leafy "dress", "collar", and "paned sleeve" arms may be based on a combination of both men and women's fashion in the early 1600's. Because of the way it acts towards smaller Pokémon and its baby Sewaddle, it could also be based on a human mother as well as a female earwig. Its general body structure is also similar to that of a Praying mantis. Considering the Pokémon based on a praying mantis, it would likely bear traits with the Choeradodis genus, the Pokémon sharing a distinguishing characteristic, a laterally expanded thorax and anterior.
Name origin
Leavanny is derived from leaves and nanny. It could also come from Levana, the ancient Roman goddess of newborn babies.
Hahakomori is likely a combination of 葉 ha, leaf, 母 haha, mother, and 子守 komori, babysitting.
