- Joltik is the lightest Bug-type Pokémon and the lightest Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
- No other Pokémon has the same type-combination as Joltik and its evolution.

Origin
Its Pokédex entry states that it latches onto to larger Pokémon to drain the static electricity off them, so it may be based on a tick, though its size seems to imply it is based on a mite. Like its evolution, it is also based on a tarantula, or a jumping spider.
Name origin
Joltik may be a combination of jolt and tick. Bachuru appears to be a combination of バチバチ bachibachi, an onomatopoeia for electric crackling, and タランチュラ taranchura, tarantula. It may also be a combination of バグ bagu, bug, and チュウ chū, an alternate reading of 虫 mushi, meaning bug.
