Escavalier (Japanese: シュバルゴ Chevargo) is a dual-type Bug/Steel Pokémon.
It evolves from Karrablast when traded for a Shelmet, which evolves into Accelgor simultaneously. Neither evolves if at least one holds an Everstone during the trade.
Biology
Physiology
Escavalier's head sports a feature quite resembling the red horsehair crest of a knight’s helmet, with a visor underneath it. The shoulders of Escavalier have large, round metal ridges, from which its thin black arms extend. The arms are tipped with red-striped jousting-lance like protrusions. Escavalier’s face and torso are bare of armor, but its lower body is concealed within a swirled gray shell with a red spike on the underside, which is presumably the shell of a Shelmet.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Its tough armor protects its entire body. They fly around at high speed, jabbing foes with their pointed spears.
Behavior
Escavalier are brave and will face against any challenge even if in trouble.

Major appearances
Bianca owns an Escavalier, having traded her Shelmet for Professor Juniper's Karrablast in Evolution Exchange Excitement!. After the evolution, Escavalier refused to obey Bianca, so Bianca and her Escavalier and Professor Juniper and her Accelgor had a Tag Battle against Ash and his Boldore and Cilan and his Crustle so Escavalier would gain Bianca's trust.
Minor appearances
Escavalier first debuted in Movie Time! Zorua in "The Legend of the Pokémon Knight"!. It appeared in Wonder Fighters, a movie based on the Wonder Launcher, where it battled a Golurk.

Trivia
- Escavalier has the highest Attack base stat of all Bug-type Pokémon, and it is tied with Metagross and Excadrill for highest Attack base stat of all Steel-type Pokémon.
- Escavalier and Ferrothorn are tied for being the slowest fully evolved Pokémon that are part of an evolutionary line, both having a Speed base stat of 20.
- This contradicts Escavalier's Pokédex entry in Pokémon Black as well as its performance in the anime, which assert that Escavalier is very fast.
Origin
Karrablast and Escavalier seem to be based on the Japanese Snail-eating Beetle (damaster blaptoides) or the maimaikaburi due the fact they feed on snails and having an elongated head/thorax allowing it to get right up into the snail shell.
Escavalier's design is based on a jousting knight. It is also slightly based on a cuirass.
Name origin
Escavalier may be a combination of cavalier (French for mounted soldier) or chevalier (French for knight) and escargot (French for snail). It may also refer to Excalibur (King Arthur's legendary sword).
Chevargo is a combination of chevalier and escargot.
