Route 134 in Ruby and Sapphire
Route 134 (Japanese: 134ばんすいどう Water Route 134) is a water route in south-central Hoenn, connecting Route 133 and Slateport City. The route is dominated for most of its length by a rapid current that prohibits any controlled movement while Surfing, thus making it a westbound route only. The Sealed Chamber is located Underwater near the eastern end of the route.
Route description
Along with Routes 132 and 133, Route 134 brings the player back from Pacifidlog Town to complete one of the many loops of the Hoenn region.
Many of the same Pokémon that appeared on the previous sea routes are found here, as are many powerful Trainers on the islets along the way. TwoRS or threeE such Trainers are found on a large "U"-shaped island in the center of the route just west of the eastern terminus.
Additionally, this route is home to the Sealed Chamber, the underwater cavern that unlocks the caves of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. To access the chamber, Trainers must depart from an island in the southeast corner of the route to travel west along the current and reach a deep spot in the route, where Trainers can Dive to the ocean floor to reach the chamber's entrance.
South of the U-shaped island is a tiny island holding a single TrainerRS or a pair of TrainersE. To the west of this spot is a large island, barren in Ruby and Sapphire but home to two Trainers and an item in Emerald. Northwest of the island, the current that dominated the previous three routes comes to an end at the northeastern edge of Slateport City.

Trivia
- On this route, there is a female Cooltrainer named Marley who uses a Manectric. She says, "Can you dodge our lightning-quick attacks?" and "I still haven't lost my passion for speed." This is similar to the storyline-important female Trainer of the same name in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum whose choice of Pokémon place emphasis on the Speed stat, and can be found on the last route in the region.
- When sailing upon the S.S. Tidal (Slateport City - Lilycove City and vice versa), clicking any porthole will show the ship sailing through the large gap in the Route.
- On the landmass at the very bottom-right of this route, there is a water current tile that is mistakenly marked as a walkable tile. However, it still retains its property that forces the player to the left when stepped on.
- The Swimmer that appears in the Ruby & Sapphire arc of Pokémon Adventures is based on Swimmer Jack, who appears in this route. Like Fisherman Wilton before him, Jack shares his Japanese name with the manga's author, Hidenori Kusaka.
